Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is sugar, spice, pepper, alcohol, and a dry almost champagne-like yeast. Taste is spice and pepper over heavier dark fruit, raisin, and sweet malt with some alcohol. Ckean, almost light mouthfeel. Enjoyable beer.

Pours dark reddish-brown withy a foamy tan head. Aroma is fruit and spices like a nice mulled apple cider on a cold evening. Taste is predominantly sweet with a slight astringency in the finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Nice beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the 750 ml. corked, caged bottle. The pour is dark reddish brown with a bountiful foamy tan head. Fabulous caramel and dark malt aromas with Belgian sugar, yeast, fig, and a clean but mellow hop note. The body is bold. The taste is upfront sweet with a slight booziness and a vaguely lingering finish. This is very nice for a beer brewed under contract for a grocery and health foods chain. I don’t know if this just a variation on Unibroue Don de Dieu.

Poured from 750 ml bottle. Opaque very deep brown with a huge khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of spice, roasted malt, caramel, raisins, figs, dates, tart plums and brown sugar. Taste of caramel, raisins, roasted malt, dates, plums, sour cherries, figs and brown sugar. Medium body and medium carbonation. An excellent brew and at $5 for a 750 ml bottle, a superb value. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle tasted at Oxford Tasting Nov 2012. Pours dark chestnut. Yeasty aroma, spicy, sugary, fruity. Flavor is a bit young, with the phenols brash with the aggressive carbonation, but promising with pipe tobacco, cherry, and brown sugar.

750ml bottle. Pours dark, slightly opaque, mahogany. Aroma of strong citrus, coriander, floral, pepper. Flavor is citrus, coriander, jasmine, pepper, cinnamon. Very citrusy, spicy, and surprising light for such a dark beer. I’m glad I tried this on a warm spring day as it compliments the weather well.

ACHops (865) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 17, 2013
750 ml corked bottle from, where else, TJs. Pours deep brown with a thick frothy pale mocha head. Aroma is yeast, bread, and floral cardamom spice. Taste is sweet, thin, figgy malt with yeasty finish. Well carbonated. Notes of chocolate, oak, and spice. Quite balanced for 9% abv... And a bargain for $5. Love to see some aging on this.
