3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2015 Tons of carbonation, head replaced quickly by a number of streams from the bottom of the glass, little lacing. Little nose of spice and something medicinal, and a hint of that wonderful Unibrew yeast. Taste of bitter caramel and spice, and there is something medicinal in the taste as well. The front is a tad harsh and quick. The finish is malty and lingers. The feel is thin and effervescent.
1.5 years later there is a nice sweetness forming in the finish. A sharpness that was there is all but gone. A wonderful beverage.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle with a Unibroue cork and cage seal served in a Sierra Nevada glass.
Popping the cork produced a slowly rising foam that just barely extruded out the top of the bottle. Likewise, a very large head rises above the dark reddish brown body, even with a gentle pour.
Excellent mouthfeel with a creamy smooth feel, but with a touch of astringency in the finish.
The aroma is spicy, yeasty and, unfortunately, a bit musty. This musty note largely disappears upon tasting, where dark fruits and dark spices come to the fore.

Bottle. It poured a dark mahogany color with an off-white head. The aroma was of dark fruits and caramel. The taste was similar to the aroma with toffee and some plum. It was full-bodied and easy to drink.

750 ml thanks to Keir. Pours a very dark mahogany color, really looks black with a large light beige head, a bit of a slow gush. A spicy malty nose. Rich, toffee, berries, strawberry especially, yeasty of course, light wood. Comes in a bit hot maybe, slightly tart. Very good overall.
