3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Brown twistoff loooongneck bottle. Clear, ruddy brown beer, thin lacing ivory head. Functional label. Sweetish, fruity malt aroma. A chalky/buffered mouthfeel, biscuity rather than crisp. Lightly sweet, low hopping and acidity (though there were the tannic notes at times), mild dark syrup flavors. Medium body, not overly carbonated, sweetish finish. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. It’s a clear, dark amber beer with a dense, off-white to light beige head. The aroma has caramel, some alcohol notes and a touch of dried fruits. It’s lightly sweet on the palate, full to medium bodied and quite soft. Caramel, some dried fruits and a little bitterness in the flavor, mostly sweet in the finish. Certainly not interesting this one, but not bad either. 130810

This was really good for a Mexican Lager, since most Mexican beers are really crap. I really don’t know why they are so easy to get in the States, since other countries are far superior in what the produce. That must be NAFTA. Oh well, the American economy is in the toilet anyway. Prosit!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle:   Coppery colored, thin sudsy off-white head, sparce lacing.   Soft toasted malt nose, a little dusty.   Smooth maltiness up front, slightly biscuity, a little honeycomb cereal.   Seems sweeter than most.
Body and mouthfeel are moderate, albeit this one is a little sticky.   Finishes toasty, malty, sweet, with some biscuit and honeycomb cereal like flavors.   Fairly mellow, but perhaps a bit too sweet.   Otherwise

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured clear, medium coppery-amber with a short off-white head. The aroma picked up light molasses and fruity sugars with dusty earth accents.. not a lot to it, but it was aiight. The flavor found caramel and molasses at the semi-dry core, with light rye and grassy notes around.. finished with muddled malts and a sweet vanilla kick right at the end. Light-bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. definitely drinkable.

Trader Jose! Figured this for a Modelo product...oh well not a huge difference. Smell is wooden and chocolate brownie. Darker copper color. My first impression is that it tastes like smoking cheap cigar, kind of cocoa infused and somewhat peaty. Better than expected for less than a buck a bottle. Light enough to drink a few, too heavy for binges.
