3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 olliejobbins (329) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2013
500ml bottle. dark copper colour. aroma is smoky and slightly hoppy. taste was very interesting (as was aroma) and i was confused. says it’s an IPA on the bottle. categorised on here as a bitter. but it was extremely smoky and complex unlike a normal bitter. not sure how i would categorise it but it tasted great. just not what i expected.

Bottle. Brownish bronze ale with no head and minor lacing. Aroma of yeast. Taste is also yeast with caramel and lots of dry malts. Average bitter, don’t know where the IPA moniker comes from.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ianwelby (210) - SCOTLAND - FEB 28, 2013
A clear copper pint with a malty smell. It tastes quite hoppy and has a strong toasted-type edge to it with a hint of caramel. For my taste the smokiness is a bit much once I drink more of it but it’s not bad.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 johninmelb (1006) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2012
Slightly yeasty nose with a lot of sweet malt. Pours amber without much life. Flavour is a little bit dirty socksy with some caramel malt. All told a pretty average bitter and it suffers from being wrongly labelled as an ipa, wrongly pictured on here, and generally being an attempt by the brewer to throw anything they can from what they consider fashionable beer styles at it in the hope something will stick to what is, ultimately, a bit of a limping scrod of a bitter.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 kiwianer (2335) - Mönchengladbach, GERMANY - DEC 13, 2012
The head is medium, the body red-brown. The taste is mild, malty, earthy and dry. In the aftertaste it is medicin-bitter, flowery, orange. Overall a bit to bitter, medicin. Not bad but not my taste. 11/8/7/7/11/8
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RyanE (98) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 1, 2012
Reddish brown pour. Not much of a head. Nose doesn’t reveal anything special. Some malt and nuts. NIce medium body mouthfeel with some faint hops on the finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 reebtogi (3267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 26, 2012
500ml bottle pours amber in color with a small white head that settles quickly and reveals some spotted lacing as it settles. Aroma is caramel and grass. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with some grassy bitterness and a slight metallic note. Light bodied with decent carbonation providing a nice tickle on the tongue. A decent brew for the style, but not as flavorful as some of the other English IPA’s that I have sampled. Although, I will have to admit it was very cold when I poured it.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 scotty (959) - SCOTLAND - SEP 3, 2012
Not really ruby in colour, more of a darkish gold, thin white head, but lasting well. Quite smooth, gently malty, hops are very much in the background. Overall, a pretty average beer, no outstanding features! Would I buy again??......?
