50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to hazzlenut brown with a slowly collapsing off-white head. Dry malty to breadish aroma with a light spice note coming through. Caramel malty flavoured with a dry breadish note. Mild roasted base flavour. Shows a light acidic roasted note towards the finish alongside a mild bitterness. Nice one.

Dark ale with a frothy light head and hopped roasted aroma with a slight caramel flavour that has a dry hopped flavour. Overall a good Scottish ale.

Draught at the Anchor, Birmingham. Nice friendly beer, which I’m glad has already been added as I wasn’t sure what style it was! A dark black beer, but very light and fruity, lacking the expected roasted malt. Reminds me of Frys Chocolate Cream. Subtle, slightly talcy aroma. A splendid pint.

Bottle from Tesco. A good looking 80/-, nice deep colour and a good white head that clings to the side of the glass and leaves a delicate lace marking each sup. Typically malty in flavour with a subtle citrus fruit just noticable on the finish. A good example of an 80 bob, better than many of the bigger names, and well worth a bash.

Tesco Bottle Cracker malt and mild aromatic hop aroma. Orange brown, low creamy head. Quite fruity flavors (peach, apricot, apples), cracker malt and pine hops - quite nice. Slightly fizzly mouthfeel, fruity aftertaste.
