Straddling beer and coffee, this stylish libation is both Alpha and Omega. With a welcoming aroma created from double strength coffee beans, accompanied by a silky smooth texture and a rich dark nature, it is clear as a full moon why it was awarded gold at the 2012 World Beer Awards.

Tastes strongly of coffee flavouring and artificial sweetener. In other words it tastes like cutting corners. Poor.

Hmmmmmm, not sure this is a beer. I love it but will struggle to convey its character using beer descriptors. It tastes like a liquid coffee cream chocolate. Nose is super coffee, taste is more coffee chocolate. Too much, way too much.

Bottle from Robroyston Asda, Glasgow, Scotland, Wednesday 17th June 2015 consumed at Craigendmuir campsite, Stepps, Glasgow the same day. Black in colour with a light beige head which is a little sticky, plenty of coffee, itís also a touch creamy, just a tinsy bit thin in the mouth. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Pours black but head dissipates quickly. Strong coffee aroma. Creamy mouth feel but i taste more chocolate than coffee. Quite sweet. If there was more bitterness from the coffee that would balance that sweetness. Tastes a bit manufactured as opposed to the flavours being achieved through smart brewing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml, Morrisonís Aberdeen, brown bottle. Scent is dense coffee aromas overpowering. Pours coffee black with a thin brown head subsiding at an average pace. Nothing but coffee on the nose. Taste is dry bitter, dense coffee. Finish is slightly sour but light as air and refreshing a bit. Would try again.

* Bottle. Pours deep black, with a tan coloured head. * Aroma is very strong, coffee, praline & sweet icing. * Palate is medium body, very low carbonation, very fine bubbles, creamy & smooth. * Taste is strong coffee, coca, cream & chocolate. * Finish is liquorice, rich, thick, moist. * Overall very strong, nice but difficult to drink much.

330 ml bottle; BBdate of April 2016. Enjoyed Ĺ mile west of St Monans, Fife at the remains of Newark Castle. Pours with a generous, creamy tan head. Aroma: As much chocolate as coffee; a characteristic repeated in the flavor. Full body; exceptionally smooth with a fine creamy feel. O: Much less coffee flavor than the "double espresso" description suggested, I found this to be very nicely balanced in coffee/malt flavor and in sweet/bitter.

Black body and small head. Odd aroma, treacle, sweet coffee liquor, tar and burned caramel. Taste is less expressive. Strange fermentation. Almost like licorice was added... I love licorice, but I didnít expect this. Quite watery too. Itís okay. (33cl bottle from Auchan Tours)
