Cask; Regular. Previously 4.8%
Traditional Scottish stout with a creamy, toasted oatmeal flavour. Lightly hopped with a complex roast malt aroma and a smooth silky aftertaste. As dark, mysterious & interesting as the glen it’s named after. Arguably better than the best Guiness!!!

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2008 Bag-in-box. 4.5% Malty/sweet, roasted aroma. Black colour, no head. Very flat. Flavour is OK, but it could use more carbonation. Roasted, malty flavour. 7 3 6 2 8

Cask at GBBF08. Good roasted aroma. Black colour, very small light brown head. The flavour is quite roasted, some mild coffee. Mild, but nice. 6 3 6 3 16

Cask@Twickenham Beer festival. Quite a different stout. Has quite an acidic/sour edge to it. Some blackcurrant and berry fruit, with some light mocha and chocolate at the end. Bitter/sour/acidic finish. Interesting, but not quite to my liking.

Cask at Catford Beer Festival. Quite a good stout. Black in colour, but the head did not last overly long. Nice nose of grain and coffee. Goodish in mouth with roasted coffee chocolate finish.

[At Jyske Øldage 2004, Kolding] A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aorma is sweet roasted with light notes of coffee. The flavor is malty and roasted with notes of coffee on a slightly sour background.

Cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. Colour is black / dark ruby. Lovely aroma of dark fruits / prunes, English pipe tobacco, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is roast barley and oats on a surprisingly fruity background. Very drinkable. Fruity aftertaste - not what you expect from a stout, but nice! (And the beer is vegan - as if I cared!)
