Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber with a white foam. Aromas are caramel, biscuit and grain with damp, floral notes. Black tea with soft raisins and lemon. Flavours are dry biscuit with weetabix and weak, black tea. Hints of berries with autumn leafiness. Gently hopped on the finish. A bit average.

Cask at JDW. A mostly clear amber shade with some white head. Caramel malt flavours dominate but there’s a few hints of spices like nutmeg and clove that make for a semi-interesting journey. Nothing remarkable but it has a nice traditional, autumnal character that I liked.
