Deep mahogany with small cream head. Aroma- hmm, malts- oaky, light coffee. Taste is smooth, sweet start into smooth coffee and toffee malts (light but not *too* watery) at first, then light coffee into watery. Start also barley. Good light malty beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in July 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque pale amber in colour with a creamy white head. Strong and intense aroma of caramel and buttery toffee notes. Silky smooth mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts gives a sweet base with soft vanilla toffee and caramelised banana flavours. Very slight hop presence but really overpowered by the sweet malt right through to the toffee finish. A cracking Scottish blonde ale but some might find this too overly sweet.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 4 on 2 December 2010. Definitely listed on the TSA website as a Spring & Summer seasonal so I donít know what it was doing at a festival in December. And it was certainly the Blonde as is was, well, blonde. But it wasnít a zesty, hoppy blonde. Creamy malt was more prominent. And some toffee notes. Not a lot of hop presence at all. A bit odd really. Clean enough but not really to my taste.

Bottled at RBESG 2007. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of phenol and caramel. The flavor has notes of caramel and still phenol, leading to a dry bitter caramel finish. What is it with the phenol?
