Cask @ The West Kirk JDW. Golden amber colour, not much head. Mild cereal malt aroma. Biscuit & citrus fruit flavour. Bitter aftertaste. A bit watery.

500ml brown bottle. Yellow pour, fat white head, good retention and lots of lacing. Nose has a bit of sweetness, light fruitiness. Taste has grain, light fruitiness. Dry finish. Light body, lots of carbonation. Not much going on here.

500ml bottle pours a golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy with some cereal grains and mild caramel. Taste is grassy hop bitterness followed by a malty sweetness underneath. Light bodied with decent carbonation. A decent bitter, but not up to par with some of the richer bitters that are out there.

50cl bottle from Gordon and MacPhail. Pours golden with gentle bubbles and a nice head, though this disappears fairly quickly. The nose has sweet lemon against a profile which reminds me of breakfast cereal sodden in milk. The taste is similarly dominated by a sweet maltiness. The palate has a light to medium body with a creamy texture in the middle section though I’d like to have experienced more hops on the finish which is a little flabby. Overall, not the worst but not worth revisiting.

Bottled. A golden beer with a white head and lacing. The aroma does have some orangey hops but also a lot of cardboard. The taste is a bit fusty with tired pasteurisation. A short finish. A poor bottled beer.
