3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2007 When I saw it at the store I figured that this was a rare breed. Ugly cloudy muddy reddy brown pour (this might be good!). Chocolatey raisin nose with plenty of malt. Body is thick and chalky but not unpleasant. Coffee and chocolate notes. Yeasty sourness. Biscuity with traces of caramel and pepper. It might have been past itís prime, but it was excellent coming from Trafalgar. Newer bottle 2006-had March 2007. Decent citrus and coffee, with some chocolate. Tropical fruits. Lots of malt and a bit of tamarind. Still, itís a bit mish-mashed, good for Trafalgar.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2007 January 2006. Bottle from LCBO. Brown body with a small khaki head that fades. Sweet malt aroma, caramel with a light malty tang. (6+) Similar flavour, not really any spice notes. Pleasant caramel malt, light malty tang again that lingers in the finish and aftertaste. Average palate. Meh. Pleasant but does not make you crave a second. 6+/3/6/3/13 - 3.1
January 2005. Dark brown, smallish white head. Unknown spicey fruityness in the aroma, with some sweet maltiness. Flavour is similarly sweet, with a fruity touch. Touch of a fruity tang in the finish/aftertaste that sort of odd but not unpleasant. Medium bodied. Not bad. 6/3/6/3/13 - 3.1<P> Christmas Day 2000 - Bitter sweet.. sort of caramel and a bit of spice? Probably a fair bit of hops too I think. 4/3/5/3/13

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Deep amber in colour. Very sweet aroma of caramel and sugar. Flavour is very sweet, malty. This beer just seems to break apart in the end. Why bother.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Aroma was weak and average. Taste was even poorer, strange mouth feel, strange aftertaste. Strange, a bit unpleasant. They tried to make exotic, intriguing beer, they made weird brew that did not pleaded my taste buds. Thanks Doug.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich brown colour with small tan head. Sweet aroma of caramel, brown sugar, spicy fruit. Mouthfeel is thin, but the flavours are nice - very malty with apple, orange and spice notes, smooth and balanced right through to the finish. With a bit more body, it would be a seriously kick-ass winter warmer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark ruby color, some head and lace. Big, enjoyable aroma of grape/orange and some hops. Light hoppy and candyish fruit flavors. Good carbo. A little bit timid and watery, but a nice beer with plenty of stuff happening.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown colour; orangey, spicy, malty flavours. This ale has a lot more flavour and balance than it did a couple of years ago. Good show.
