2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
650 mL bottle. Deep chestnut brown with some (not much) head. No lacing. Coffee and something unpleasant (someone else described as vegetal?) in the aroma. Roasted malt, sweet, nice bitter finish. Thin, for such a dark beer. Alcohol is not apparent. A little disappointing.

1.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I give up on this brewer...the strong ales are consistantly laced with demerara and the same damn shitty yeast in every brew.
This one was no differtnt ...much like othe Trafalgar strong ales with some lame attempt at spicing...same slick mouth feel, same vegital notes, same crappy yeast tastes and the same weak heading and lack of real protien in the body.
Done with íem stick a fork in íem...thereís no hope....being kind in reviews to encourage better brews from them is wasted . Iíll not waste any more time on them until the place changes brewers and direction.
Of all the Christams special releases fron Ontario mico brewers this brings a new meaning to the concept of constantly sucking!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark ruby color, some head and lace. Big, enjoyable aroma of grape/orange and some hops. Light hoppy and candyish fruit flavors. Good carbo. A little bit timid and watery, but a nice beer with plenty of stuff happening.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Intentionally did not read description prior to tasting. Very integrated. Surprisingly packed with flavor. It is very gently carbonated (donít drink this very cold) with a fairly complex aroma that seems different from the taste. I taste a variety of ripe fuits and some sweet chocolate - definitely leaning to the fruity side, very interesting and full-tasting effect. A whole bomber of this would be a little much on the palate maybe. Proud beer!

i appreciate the aroma and flavor of this brew, but the balance is a bit off. a potentially good beer now tastes just like one of my failed homebrew.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark Dark amber with thin white head. Acidic malt aroma with, some sort of fruitiness is present, canít quite place it. Like a berry. Flavour is sweet, almost tastes like a flat cola pop. Mild carbonation. Not a very hardy palate. mehhh.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
650 ml bottle date stamped May 07. Like the other Trafalgars sampled recently, this one was only a week removed from the store, althought this one does appear to be past the best before date. Same resutl as the other though - an "off" acidic twang that dominates everything else. Cloudy brown amber colour with a mostly lasting fizzy and frothy tan head. Acidic, lemony twang along with cinnamon and coriander aroma. Acidic twang again in the flavour with some light bready malts, cinnamon and coriander. Light to medium bodied, fizzy and dry mouthfeel.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma of sweet malt, brown sugar, also some orange and coridander. Pours a lifeless dark brown, no carbonation or head. Flavour is dominated by a cloying molasses sweetness. The sour finish doesnít help. This beer has no sublety, it just clobbers you over the head.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a cloudy dark brown/amber with a tiny foam ring, and a cherry-fruity lightly-spiced head. Tastes oddly astringent - grape-juice. Mulled wine spicing, and a confusing vinous aftertaste. Thin body, low carb. This tastes like chinotto and grape-juice. Maybe it would be best served warm?
