Commercial Description:
The Celtic formulation is based on an ancient recipe for Irish Brown Ale. Four different malts emphasize the grainy richness of this well-balanced ale. The flavour profile of Celtic is that of an easy drinking subtle ale with mild hopping. This every day ale compliments most meals and occasions.

Pours a nice dark amber with a decent head and some lace. Wonderful malty, fruity aroma - sweet and pungent! Taste is a bit less enthralling - plenty of hops put a snap into the initial taste, but it’s quickly made evident that this beer is lacking in malt and tastes watery. Very nutty taste, but where the malt should shine through, only hops remain. The foam helps to make the otherwise thin body a bit creamier, and the carbonation is good. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad beer, but I think it relies to heavily on carbonation and hops to put a bit of bite into an otherwise low-malted beverage. Maybe a different yeast strain? Thanks to Robin for the opportunity to taste this one!

6 pack from the local beer store. ok, well i must admit off the bat, i’m comming into this rating with very low expectations. Trafalgar is notorious for infected brew, and when the beer isnt infected, its pretty bland and wattery. With that said, this is quite nice! small off white head, decent retention for a trafalgar beer. nice sweet maltiness, even breadiness in the aroma. Flavour is crisp, nutty and malty, with a slight bitterness, and really nice carbonation. this is a nice beer.

650ml bottle from LCBO. I found this very clean and crisp-malty for a Trafalgar product. This brewer is very hit-and-miss but there was nothing wrong with this nice little session ale, being so straight and simple it does show a light feel. Nutty, toasty malts and a hint of tingly feeling hops. Hard to fault this particular bottle.

Deep chestnut with a hint of red. Whiskey-like aroma with complimentary cola effects. Flavour is a deep, mysterious malt with a decided burnt edge, dark chocolate and a follow-up hint of whiskey. The flavour could have been much deeper and richer; as it is, this beer rests in the ’okay’ category.
