2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Wow this is quite an intense beer. Very strong aroma, strange bitter and sort of "bad" flavour, hard to explain the taste. Almost tastes burnt. An interesting beer, Iím not sure if Iím a very big fan but itís alright.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 mL Bottle. Murky straw body with a fast dissipating head but leaving lots of clingy spotty lace. Intense aroma of resiny hops dominates over the pale sweet light malts, a note of grapefruit rind. The flavor is like a homebrew that needs to age just a bit more in cellar; tart with resiny citrus hops. A hop bitter aftertaste lingers in the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
batch. Brewed Aug 2013 . Bottled Sept 2013. On the shelf in Embrun, ON Jan 2014. Floral, yeasty, sweet aroma - lots of candy here. Hazy unfiltered yellow, foamy frothy head. Taste - really interesting wet harvest sort of taste - even months after. Musty, yeasty. Candy sweet , sharp bitterness, earthy, almost medicinal. Interesting hop(s) here - what did they use? Solid beer, stunned in it holding up so well. Nice work.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 2 months old - Lots of lemon and grass, almost sour like. Hazy yellow with a very active bubbly head. Grassy hop bitterness and lemon a bit on the acidic side. The more I drink the more the sharpness declines and this turns into a perfect hot weather beer. Unfortunately it is snowing outside. I also give credit to the brewer that clearly states, harvest date and bottling date.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650ml bottle. 2013. Hazy golden body, medium white head with decent lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, mango, sulphur, grains. Taste has a good dose of herbal bitter hops, sweet malty backbone, grassy, slightly spicy. Good try.

2013 ed. 650 ml bottle. Pours an opaque orange with a tiny white head. Aroma is citrus hop and something sulfur. Flavour is citrus hoppy and really simple. Body is very watery. Finish is bitter and slightly malty.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
2013 edition. This is not what I was expecting. Grabbed this on the way home from work at end of the week thinking this was going to be a treat. Instead what I got was a trick. Iím not saying this is a disaster but itís pretty close. Pours dead out of bottle. Even with hard pour thereís no cap or lacing to think of. Iíve never seen such an unattractive pour. Aroma is busted nose hops, sour in all the wrong ways. Taste is bitter, with enough fresh hop bitterness to avoid a drain pour, but really once again disappointing. Almost think this may be a bad bottle/batch/idea. Iíve had fresh hop brews that work nice -- I recently rated Amsterdamís autumn hop highly -- but this is not working for me. UPDATE: I drain poured this. Seriously wondering if this batch/bottle is bad or if Iím just missing the link. Brutal.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from LCBO
Brewed 2012.08.27, bottled 2012.09.15, bb 2013.01
Hazy or cloudy blond color, with evidently excessive carbonation, huge head. The aroma is not right; there is some nice wild strawberries (very light) with strong yeast, and some green hops. Smooth mouthfeel; strong spicy malt flavor, with a funky touch, yeasty, followed by gentle toffee; strongly bitter, although possible hop qualities have faded; long final, powerful, a bit harsh (because of the yeast too, probably).
It seems to be a rough beer; maybe the funkiness has developed unexpectedly; Iím willing to try it again, fresher.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
If i had noticed in the LCBO that this was a Trafalgar brew, i wouldnít have bought it in the first place, but i was intrigued by the idea of a "wet hopped pale ale". Iím from the school of thought that only well-cured hops develop their full expression of flavor. But nonetheless i thought iíd try it. First off, way too carbonated. Its a pale ale not a soda pop. Aroma is light citrus fruit and grass, slightly metallic, very little malt aroma. Taste is of citrus and pine, moderately bitter, weak body, not much of a finish. Nothing too great. Not for $5.95 anyway. There are pale ales from Ontario that arenít specialty beers like this, that blow this beer out of the water anyday. When you buy a special celebration sized bottle of a specialty beer, at $5.95, you think youíre getting a real treat. I could have picked up any $2.50 pale ale can and had a better hop session. Trafalgar needs to sell their mash tuns and start making soda or energy drinks because their beer blows.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
2012 bottle from the brewery. Pours a pale straw yellow thatís slightly cloudy with a bit of white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is mainly citrus and spruce hops, lots of hops, also maybe a bit of fruitiness. Palate quite light though a bit oily and the carbonation kind of attacks you. Taste is quite hoppy and bitter at first though thereís a good bit of malty sweetness for a moment. This all gets overwhelmed with lots and lots of bitter hops, even lingering in the aftertaste. Itís a decent IPA, but not at all an EPA.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 ml bottle, 2012 Edition from czar. Shared with czar and friends. A hazy orange amber with a nice, lasting white head. Smell is herbal, floral, oranges. Taste is sweet, fruity, orange. Very strong grapefruit injection in the finish. Lemon, lime, orange, pretty much all kinds of citrus I can think of, but God the grapefruit bitterness is THERE. Light body, somewhat oily and resinous mouthfeel. Carbonation is, unfortunately, way too strong. A very solid wet hop, that is unfortunately hindered by its overly aggressive carbonation.
