DougShoemaker (2553), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 8, 2005 Chocolate, brown sugar aroma, deep copper, good sized toffee head, lot’s of lace. Malty flavour to begin with, some bitter almond qualities, and some caramel notes too. Medium bodied, sweet, creamy, pleasantly bitter, and it has an interesting tongue tingle. Very nice offering indeed! (Be sure to try the full pint, rather than the sample size.) jerc (3056), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 24, 2005 Draft. Dark brown bost with a small white head, slightly hazy. Pleasant malty aroma. Slight note of something "grainy" that may or may not be the buckwheat. Flavour has a similarly malty profile, touch of waifish roast in the background lingers on the tongue/aftertaste. Hints of dry cocoa that I am not sure are in the glass or just in my head. Smooth medium bodied palate. Nice beer, bodes well for future Trafalgar experiments.
