COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Derived from the simple mixture of fermented honey, water, and yeast, the art of mead-making reaches back thousands of years, peaking in the Middle Ages. The spiritual and cultural significance of mead has been celebrated throughout the ages. October 6, 2012; 9.0 abv%, Ceramic container of some sort, refrigerated, Rock Glass; First off, that cork took five guys to get off. A corkscrew was the answer. The cork was an inch longer than any of us anticipated. Second, this is my first of this style. Aside from the dry bread and sweets, which was expected, some wet basement and earthy cellar. Pours a hazy honey with decent head Maybe I got the wrong bottle but this tastes of sweet crab juice (legitimate comparison). A bit of mustiness in this finish. Weird. Thin and watery with a musty finish. Surprisingly quenching. Not for me.

Bottle with candlelight and Gregorian chants. My first braggot so take this review with a grain of salt. Nose is slight honey, alcohol, Flavour is fairly sweet, some lemon, Thin, watery. Alright to try once.

Eructoblaster (2855) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 10, 2013
Ceramic bottle - 500ml. Hazy golden body with heavy carbonation and a thin white bubbly head. Weird rotten herbs aroma with honeyish hints. Taste hides the alcohol very well. It carries grassy and flowery notes, and ends with a short bittersweet finish. Ordinary.

500 ml ceramic bottle. Pours a reddish gold with a virtually nonexistent off white head. Aroma of dark caramel malts and citrus. Flavour is sweet and alcohol with a little malt and honey. Finish is smooth and sweet. Reminiscent of white zin for some reason.

Metalchopz (2128) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 15, 2013
Single ceramic bottle, painted somewhat gold, from the LCBO. After just finishing their ginger mead, there is not way this could be worst. Golden colour with a bigger head. Pear and apple aromas at first, but eventually, lots of caramel come out. Thankfully, not as sour as the other one. Caramel, apples and some milder lemon citrus. Gets cloudy like the other, near the last pour. This one is definitely better than their ginger mead, but still, not the best of mead.

DuffMan (6164) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 26, 2013
Weighty ceramic corked & caged bottle, shared with TylerDurden. Medium golden pour. Sweet honey and grains aroma, light plastic undertones. Honey sweetness competes with some unpleasant phenols that grow increasingly intrusive. Pretty bad.

Not the greatest Mead in the world, but it will introduce someone to the drink well. Flavor is sweet, slightly stale honey, some grainy malt, and some very faint hops with some fruitiness to it as well. Not too complex though. Very little carbonation almost felt like drinking an oddly flavored wine in the mouth. This is pretty standard, it won’t blow you away, but it shouldn’t make you cringe.

Hazy yellow gold with no head. Sweet, very sweet. Just a bit tart. Hard to review a mead on a beer site. It alright, not great but not horrible.

[5134-20130222] 500mL ceramic bottle. Honeyed floral wheat aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sweet honey grains flavour. Light-medium body. Not terrible, but close. (5/3/5/3/8) 2.4

500 ml. ceramic fancy bottle. Pours a hazy, no head no lacing dark orange colour drink. Soft aroma of yeast, grape, green apple with other fruity notes. A little bit of floral honey and no hops. More a carbonated juice, or a cider drink with alcohol Not my kind of beer.
