COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Derived from the simple mixture of fermented honey, water, and yeast, the art of mead-making reaches back thousands of years, peaking in the Middle Ages. The spiritual and cultural significance of mead has been celebrated throughout the ages. Trafalgar’s Mead Braggot adds premium hops and malt to the ancient recipe, creating a delicious, refreshing drink unlike any other!

The braggot pours a clear medium gold colour with a short-lived white head. Aroma is tart fruit, grains, and weak honey notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and highly carbonated. Flavour is tart fruit, and furniture polish. Hopefully meads and braggots made by other brewers taste better.

I think Robin Hood was drinking this beer in the movie(Russell Crow one). Golden color, surprisingly little head. Of course honey aroma, apple. Alcoholic aftertaste, little hop. Refreshing, pleasant honey taste. Good for a break, if you want something not hoppy.

Sweet white wine aroma. Nice clear crisp colour and foamy white head. Deliciously sweet with a hoppy bite otherwise not a ton of flavour.

Correct.

2013-02-22 - tasting hosted by blankboy, with gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - "trafalgar maggot" - no idea who brought the bottle, but you’re welcome for the new, more accurate name, Trafalgar, purveyors of liquid garbage. Hazy amber-gold, actually had a wee bit of beige head - thick "foamy" legs (somehow we compared it to Nair ...). Smells a bit nasty - sugary, harsh, vegetal, stale grass, boozy ... (6-). Tastes- sour dishwater with some cheap honey thrown in, somehow bitter and boozy. Watery, thin, still, harsh, unpleasant aftertaste - blech.

Bottle with candlelight and Gregorian chants. My first braggot so take this review with a grain of salt. Nose is slight honey, alcohol, Flavour is fairly sweet, some lemon, Thin, watery. Alright to try once.

Ceramic bottle - 500ml. Hazy golden body with heavy carbonation and a thin white bubbly head. Weird rotten herbs aroma with honeyish hints. Taste hides the alcohol very well. It carries grassy and flowery notes, and ends with a short bittersweet finish. Ordinary.

500 ml ceramic bottle. Pours a reddish gold with a virtually nonexistent off white head. Aroma of dark caramel malts and citrus. Flavour is sweet and alcohol with a little malt and honey. Finish is smooth and sweet. Reminiscent of white zin for some reason.

Single ceramic bottle, painted somewhat gold, from the LCBO. After just finishing their ginger mead, there is not way this could be worst. Golden colour with a bigger head. Pear and apple aromas at first, but eventually, lots of caramel come out. Thankfully, not as sour as the other one. Caramel, apples and some milder lemon citrus. Gets cloudy like the other, near the last pour. This one is definitely better than their ginger mead, but still, not the best of mead.

Weighty ceramic corked & caged bottle, shared with TylerDurden. Medium golden pour. Sweet honey and grains aroma, light plastic undertones. Honey sweetness competes with some unpleasant phenols that grow increasingly intrusive. Pretty bad.

Not the greatest Mead in the world, but it will introduce someone to the drink well. Flavor is sweet, slightly stale honey, some grainy malt, and some very faint hops with some fruitiness to it as well. Not too complex though. Very little carbonation almost felt like drinking an oddly flavored wine in the mouth. This is pretty standard, it won’t blow you away, but it shouldn’t make you cringe.
