The aroma is sweet, orange?, slight oak, dark doughy bread, touch of caramel and biscuit. More biscuit on the taste, light sourness, bready and a bit thick. Dry bitterness similar to English ales, no doubt about it. I don’t see how oak aging has added much. A bit of rye, watery. Rye finish on the breath and an ok tart finish. Boring ass beer for sure. The best part of this beer is the after taste - not a good sign. Cirrhosis (618), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Oct 6, 2009 Light bronzy brown with no cap to speak of, very clear and bla bla boring / cheap looking. Rye oaky aroma some hop and chocolate and a mystery chemical smell. Blech not a fan of this soft flat slimy feel this is no good I tell you, NO GOOD!!!!!!! Rye is prominent in the taste with vanilla from the oak aging, there is a surprisingly good hop bite what I was not expecting. More I drink the more bready and boring this becomes. This beer is completely non disgusting but I get no enjoyment from it. Lat sip tasted like sour crap. Trev (863), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Bomber. Poured vibrant, fiery orange with only a swirly dusting of whitish head (when swirled). The aroma picked up sweet honey accented by grainy fresh oak and mild peppery spices (must’ve been the rye).. if a beer can smell dry, this one did it. The flavor had honey, pale malt, and buttercream at the core, laced with rye and oak.. sweet-ish finish with more of the same accents. Light-bodied and very dry on the palate.. nothing all that interesting here, but it was drinkable. cfrancis (311), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada

Nice smooth taste with a full palate. Surprisingly good. I came across this local brew that said it was Oak aged. Overall this is one of the worst beers I have ever tasted. The Aroma alone is nauseating. Reminds me of stomach acid. Stay away from this brewer. JesseM (665), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2009 650ml bomber from the LCBO spring seasonal release. Very fresh bottle. Pours a deep copper with virtually no head. The aroma is odd, but good. Spicy, very sweet, rye malts, and fruity. The flavour is entirely different. Quite sweet upfront with a surprising amount of fruityness, making way for some mild spice at the back of the mouth. A tad woody and with very tasty rye malts as the backbone. Fruity, and with maybe just a subtle hint of oak, though I seriously doubt they actually ’aged’ this 5% beer in oak. Quite different and not at all what I expected, a pleasant surprise, and really very good by Trafalgar standards. I really feel like they’re on the way to redeeming themselves for the pathetic excuse of a brewery they used to be. GRM (1254), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada
