650ml bottle, cloudy amber-orangeish hue, leaving laces with a fruity, oaky, vanilla nose, with a buttery, grainy rye cereal ,fruity winey aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a wet, winey, oaky, watery character, with a vanilla woody oakiness, a faint fruity sour apple note, leading towards a fruity, winey acidic finish.

(large bottle) deep amber with off white head. Aroma is all oak. Flavor was all oak and quite sour. Perhaps this bottle was going off.

Medium brown color with a low, tan head. Aroma of amber malts, rather sweet and caramel, with decent hops, wood, and rye. rich oak flavor, with rye and caramel malts. Buttery and creamy. Very nice flavor, distinctive, oaked like a chardonney. Some chocolate as well. Malty, buttery finish with a touch of sour. Very interesting and flavorful with complex malts. the rye is light but noticeable. Unlike the German varieities, more ale like. Slightly too sweet and buttery.

(Rating #1897)

Orange-amber in colour with a off white coloured head, average retention, some lacing. The aroma is sweet, some lemon citrus and some grains. The flavour is thin and watery, sweet, grainy with some light citrus hops. Watery mouthfeel, light body, mild carbonation. Finishes grainy with some citrus, thin.

Oak aged? Rye? I never seem to get Trafalgar beers but for some reason I keep buying them if its new to me. Maybe only day they will make a beer that I actually enjoy.

650ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on March 13, 2008.
No date.

Rusty orange pour with a bubbly head. Warm slightly spicey scent. Really nice taste malty and spicey. A bit flowery. Nice low carbonation. A good balance with a dry finish.

Bottle - 650ml. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white frothy head. Decent hoppy aroma with some apple and grapefruit hints. Its hoppy taste lacks complexity and strength, and finish is short. Good, but nothing to get too excited about.

A nice amber ale with a thick light moka head. A pleasant vanilla aroma, with little acid points. In mouth, rye malt with light oaken wood notes, dry, medium bodied. A good beer for Trafalgar. Bought at LCBO, Ottawa.
