650ml Bottle: Ok, I’ve temporarily cleared the personal ban on Trafalgar after noticing this puppy getting some positive reviews in and around the interweb. Pours light copper/brown in colour, no head. Aroma of musky malt, sugar, and oak only because I know it’s supposed to be there. The best thing about the flavour is the lack of that "Trafalgar yeast" we all know so well. They’ve actually managed to create something drinkable, if not bland. It’s watery but offers up some caramel malts, some oak chip notes, whisky, and ever so quiet hops in the background. Hey, for Trafalgar it ain’t bad.

Oct 2, 2008 650ml bottle, cloudy amber-orangeish hue, leaving laces with a fruity, oaky, vanilla nose, with a buttery, grainy rye cereal ,fruity winey aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a wet, winey, oaky, watery character, with a vanilla woody oakiness, a faint fruity sour apple note, leading towards a fruity, winey acidic finish.

Sep 25, 2008 (large bottle) deep amber with off white head. Aroma is all oak. Flavor was all oak and quite sour. Perhaps this bottle was going off.

Sep 1, 2008 Medium brown color with a low, tan head. Aroma of amber malts, rather sweet and caramel, with decent hops, wood, and rye. rich oak flavor, with rye and caramel malts. Buttery and creamy. Very nice flavor, distinctive, oaked like a chardonney. Some chocolate as well. Malty, buttery finish with a touch of sour. Very interesting and flavorful with complex malts. the rye is light but noticeable. Unlike the German varieities, more ale like. Slightly too sweet and buttery.

Aug 26, 2008 Bouteille de 22 oz achetée chez LCBO (Ottawa, ONT). Arôme: Légère odeur de citron et de légumes bouillies. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée foncée et une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût de seigle, de vanille et de légumes. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement aqueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de seigle rôtis en arrière goût. (Rating #1897)

Aug 20, 2008 Orange-amber in colour with a off white coloured head, average retention, some lacing. The aroma is sweet, some lemon citrus and some grains. The flavour is thin and watery, sweet, grainy with some light citrus hops. Watery mouthfeel, light body, mild carbonation. Finishes grainy with some citrus, thin.
Oak aged? Rye? I never seem to get Trafalgar beers but for some reason I keep buying them if its new to me. Maybe only day they will make a beer that I actually enjoy.
