robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Oct 10, 2007 Updated: Nov 28, 2007pour a dark brown, with no head to speak of. Aroma is salmon like, with some soy sauce, and some smoke, very odd aroma. Flavour is like smoked salmon. Wow, this is weird. It’s slightly wattery, mouthfeel is thin. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 9, 2007 This stout was really not bad, and really not smoky, not particularly roasty or terrifically malty... the bomber was finished before I knew it. Hmmh! Nothing wrong here but hardly boasting much character. St Amby and Sinha kick this beer’s ass pretty hard actually Gpnterojd (162), Orangeville, Ontario, Canada Sep 30, 2007 Poured with little head. Black. Almost salmon flavour. Nothing is done heavily. I couldn’t see where the smoke affected anything. Decent, not great. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 A smokey, lighter bodied stout. Not reflective of a thicker oatmeal stout, but not bad, and certainly was drinkable over a long lunch. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 650 mL bottle. Almost no head at any point. Smoke is there in both aroma and flavour, but not in a strong way. Thin, a little fruity sweet, and although the smoke is a nice touch, there is not enough roast flavour. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 27, 2007 well i didn’t hate this beer as much as the rest seem to have but i do agree its very thin for the style. I was pleased that it was one of the few Trafalgar products i would drink again, not much foam very thin dark color, kinda syrupy but drinakble more smoke on the nose then in the flavor but there is some there. Mouth feel is really thin and watery. I see potential here keep going. Beer Snob (378), Ontario, Canada Sep 24, 2007 Almost flat, thin tasting and a lingering sweetness that I could have done without.
Smoked? Couldn’t tell by the taste - a garden variety stout and not a patch on the other Oatmeal Stouts that I have sampled. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Sep 23, 2007 Dark poor with a small tiny lite brown head that QUICKLY faded to nothing... You could slightly see through it. Aromas are faint of smoked wood, hickory and dark chocolate. Flavors are very faint and fad... Mouthfeel is fad as well with no carbonation whatsoever and very light mouthfeel for a stout. Light aftertaste of plastic? Now although this beer realy cought my attention at the LCBO, when i saw trafalgar i was very hesitant... Don’t ask me why i bought it, i just did. I don’t regret it, but i wont buy again.
