UPDATED: MAY 1, 2013 It is ok. I try to support local beers and I purchase beers from this brewery before and taste them and it is always a bit of a let down. Always missing that extra punch of taste that is never there.

Nice pour. Put some of the 650ml bottle in the glass, the rest I used to cook mussels. Delicious both ways. Dark colour. Chocolate on the palate. Long pleasant finish. A nice beer. Not outstanding, but a good effort.

bottle. Pours fizzy black, little head. Aroma is decent, strong smoke and meat. Taste is disappointing, almost like a spray of smokiness in a thin and bland lager. Not great.

Pours a very deep auburn brown; opaque. Medium off-white foam with tiny bubbles. Aroma of dark chocolate balanced with sweet roasted malts. Mild smokey taste gives way to a much deeper, hardwood smoked aftertaste with a heavy amount of both roasted malt and astringent bitterness. Earthy, musty as some have said and somewhat oily. Bitter aftertaste. I ended up using 1/2 the bottle to cook a beef stew, just couldn’t drink the whole bottle...

Bouteille 650 ml. 5%. Couleur brune foncé, mousse beige, reflets rougeâtre faible. Arôme de malt, un peu de chocolat, fumée, un peu de café. En bouche, assez mince, un peu de fumée, houblon, choco un peu de café. Déjà vu de meilleur stout mais pas si pire.

Aroma: Not bad, it has a bread, toast, chocolate and coffee notes. Not very strong though.
Appearance: It’s a not bad looking beer. Very dark and cloudy as you would expect, and a nice brown neck that lasts a bit.
Taste: Bitter and sour, much more than I was going to expect.
Palate: Feels creamy, but light bodied, soft and has a short and bitter finish.
Overall: Not the best stout I had, but maybe more suitable for someone who is used to lagers, it would be more palatable.

Musty aroma with a little cream and faint raisin accents. Almost opaque ruby-black under an eternal, tan, fuzzy foam. Dry and sour musty flavour with only smoke and vanilla echoes. Mineral watery and lifeless overall. Light body, medium to high carbonation, lingering faint bitterness.

Very dark brown, light tan head. Aroma is equally smokey (meaty) and sweetly chocolatey. Smokey entry (campfire, sausage), light chocolate, light fig. Hampered only by a lighter body, this is otherwise a fine stout. The smoked malt helps mask some flaws I’m sure, but so what? I enjoyed it. Very puzzling that it ranks in the 2nd percentile for style. I’ve had MUCH worse.

With an aroma as strong as this I was expecting more. The flavourful is very mild and the body is thin.. The aftertaste tastes nice but fades very quickly. Disappointing.

Dark brown pour with one finger of pillow tan head. Malt & cereal aroma. Malt, coffee & chocolate flavour. A bit of a thin finish leaves something to be desired. Overall nice stout.
