| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Murky dark brown. Smells thin, with hints of char. Thin, slight roast and chocolate. Not much going on, certainly no smoke. MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 7, 2009 My Bottom Line:
There is a lot smokiness to cover up this Stout’s meager body and malt development, but the flaccid mouthfeel and inherent ash-like roastiness tend to crop up once in a while.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-There is barely a ring of foam to decorate the blackened dark brown.
-Some dark chocolate can be found within the smoke.
-Carbonation is nearly absent, which greatly detracts from the experience and exposes the beer’s flaws quite nicely.
-Some roasted malt bitterness is felt in the end.
-All in all, this is still one of Trafalgar’s most flavorful brews I’ve had...

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2007 660 ml bottle. Deep black beer with a thick white head. The aroma is quite roasty. Thin body, chocolatey malt and a light soft roastiness. A touch of sourness. Not much oatmeal or smoke, but it’s a decent dryish stout. Lubiere (4491), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2007 A dark brown stout with a light moka head. Aroma is sweet caramel and peat. In mouth, a sweet chocolate with peated notes, butterscotch, and toffee. Overall, rather light in mouth. But he, it ain’t infected! LCBO. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Strong roasted malt in the nose along with some raisin/plum fruitiness and some sulfur but I really can’t find even a hint of smoke. Clear deep garnet brown coloured body sports a very shy white head that recedes almost instantly to a slight collar. Strong cabbagey DMS in the flavour but no smoke. Roast is quite apparent as well. Thin, dry and astringent with watery texture and low carbonation that is short-lived. Bottle (LCBO at Summerhill, Nov-07). HogTownHarry (4000), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 26, 2007 Bottle. Sampled at BeerBistro, 2007 Golden Tap Awards. Opaque reddish-brown, with a tiny off-white head. Smells sweet and cheap, like root beer syrup, some green hops. Taste - like stale cola, dry stale hops and weeds - bleah. Syrupy and still with a bitter, slightly nasty aftertaste. Not very good - avoid. Sammy (3981), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2007 A smokey, lighter bodied stout. Not reflective of a thicker oatmeal stout, but not bad, and certainly was drinkable over a long lunch. Radek Kliber (3942), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Bottle 650ml
Appearance :Clear ruby brown with fine white contrasting top.3+
Nose :Chocolate, roasts with woody accents. Not as clean as some stouts go. 6- Flavour/Palate: Thin base , quiet harsh texture with remote hint of roasted malt. More body, better malt base is the right way to do it. Pretty label is only good for first buy.
