jaymobrown (1292), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 1, 2004 Very yeast, malty, cookie, bread, flavors. Caramel sweet with an almost syrupy type of flavor, very thick texture. Silphium (1981), Lansing, Michigan, USA Nov 29, 2004 Brought to marinaro500’s post-Thanksgiving gathering by wohlfs. Cloudy orange-brown body, thin off-white head. Butterscotchy and heavy burnt caramel aroma with notes of banana (even circus peanuts) and peanut brittle. Flavor was very circus peanuty too with some toast and light chocolate with hints of caramel. The circus peanuts really take over as the beer warms. Relatively thin-bodied, clean aftertaste. Sweet but could be stronger. BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 29, 2004 Thanks wohlfs for the Traffic Jam bottles at Joe’s Party: Cloudy and orangy with minimal lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, butterscotch, banana, floral and aromatic hops, salty, light spice, wheaty and yeasty. The taste starts fruity and yeast dominates with a wheat nature throughout. Minor spice and a touch of honeycomb on the finish. The feel is syrupy and heavy for the style, smooth and lush, quite yummy! I liked the whole better than the parts, works out quite nicely. A surprise for me that I would like to try again! 11026 (1886), USA Nov 11, 2004 Tap. Aroma for some reason reminds me of smells found in sake. Medium amber color. Quick fading white head. Sweetish in taste, a little estery. Some sour/bitter flavors in the finish. redmosquito (172), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Oct 28, 2004 Nice reddish brown colored beer with a big head. Surprisingly clear. Sweet caramel malt aroma, with mild hints of banana. The bear has a nice sweet and toasted flavor balance with a finish that is banana and slightly tart. There is plenty of body here, and the beer goes down smoothly. This is a good wheat beer and a nice change of pace from the typical American Wheat you can find almost everywhere.
