jtw (909), farmington, Michigan, USA Sep 20, 2005 on tap at 2005 detoberfest. the first beer i tried from them, and it’s definitely a coffee porter. intense coffee, but not overly bitter or roasty, just lots of espresso added to a pretty decent porter. 11026 (1886), USA Nov 19, 2004 Nitro Tap. Nice deep brown color with off-white head. Deeply roasted malts fill the aroma with hints of coffee also. Body is medium. The flavor is dominated with roasted grain, coffee and chocolate. Long bitter hop finish. Probably would go up a few points if on regular tap. Jfishback13 (271), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA May 18, 2002 This is their best beer. Being local I appreciate their efforts to make one of the finest beers in detroit. hennes (932), Fountain, Michigan, USA Mar 15, 2002 This place claims to be ’Michigan’s Oldest BrewPub’ and this is their signature brew. I rather doubt the claim, but the brew does seem classically microbrew thin. It has a Huge roasted coffee start and finshes a touch sweet.
