Originally Created by the British, this bitter pale ale was brewed to survive the long, unrefrigerated trip from England to the troops stationed in India in the 1800’s. In America we’ve taken the style and added our own unique twist. This is our version, hopped with all American varieties with even more added to the fermenter, prior to cold conditioning. Full bodied, bitter with a complex Orange / Tangerine / Pineapple / Passion fruit flavor and aroma, it’s sure to please the most discriminating beer connoisseurs.

Tasted 5/7/11. Pint from the Brewpub. Pours filtered with a dark amber hue. Brainy, moldy khaki head. Aromas of sweet citrus and strawberries. Medium bodied and very fresh! Mild toasted, medium roasted dry malt bill. The hops are abundant and cloying. Flavors of citrus grapefruit and piney hops that meld and add to the dry palate. Bright and fruity, initially in the mouth. A decent effervescence adds to the astringency of the hop palate. This is rather similar to Great Divide’s Titan (which in my opinion is a quality IPA!) in it’s balance between the malts and hops. Well crafted! I could put down quite a few of these!
