Tap - good size foamy head, dark brown color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, mild nutty coffee flavor - nothing special

Very dark brown. Nice tan head. Surprisingly creamy. Slight roasting. I was expected at least a hint of nut. Pretty bland, but ok

This beer has a sort of coffee note to it with a nice after taste. It goes really well with their sausage platter.

Draft at the brewpub in a sampler. Pours a dark, clear cola brown color with a small tan head that leaves some trailing lace. Notes of caramel, brown sugar, toasted nuts, syrup, and mild coffee. Really sweet for a brown ale. Light-medium bodied, with a syrupy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Just too sweet for me.

aroma is good fudge tempered with peanuts or other salty ilk as backdrop. appearance is opaque RIS levels with reducing head, leaving film and substantial ring. flavor is metallic fudge up front followed by more peanuts and fleeting notes of dark raspberries or grapes. the third try for this brewer finally gives a drinkable mouthfeel - low carb but full enough, especially for style to reduce gag reflex.

Tasted 3/31/11. Sampler from the Brewpub. Dark yet filtered with a brainy ring of tan head. Nice layering on the head. Aromas of mild coffee and fudge, toast and subtle maple. Medium bodied, rounded and mild on the effervescence, but has a good amount of flavor and complexity. Toasty fudge flavors with a touch of dark fruit and maple syrup. A nice subtle cocoa note. A noticeable, yet tamed coffee acidity. Nice cloying finish. I like it!

Tasted from a sampler at the brewpub. Good head and nice lacing. Nice dark brown coloring. Decent flavor with a touch of coffee and very slight bitterness.

not too good, may of been because it had some travel time on it, was given as a gift. tasted like bad homebrew.

Tasted at Lewis & Clark Restaurant. An exceptionally dark and thick looking brown. Smallish head that soon becomes blotchy. This beer is all about malt and roasted malt. Nutty and roasted flavors with some caramel. Hops barely noticed. Like the APA, just a bit of soap.
