COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the city in which it originated, our Vienna style lager is brewed using a decoction boiling process. Munich, Pilsner and Vienna malts are used, which add depth to its amber color. Subtle hops, crisp, with residual sweetness.

12 oz. bottle from Prost. Aroma is toasted grain, sulfur, and mild yeast. Flavor is a reflection of the aroma with some light hints of dark bread and maybe a toasted nutty hint. Body is pretty thin/ rides the line of watery. Overall nothing close to high end of the style but drinkable enough.

Tap: Poured a light clear amber color lager with a small foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light cereal notes with light caramelized malt notes. Taste is a mix of light medium-sweet caramel malt with some cereal and grainy notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Nothing earth shattering here but well balanced and easily drinkable.

Pours hazy amber into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour caramel and candy corn aromas. Medium bodied with dark malt and mild butterscotch front to back. Medium length earthy bitter finish.

Trapp Lodge: Pours a golden color with a white head (looks kind of similar to a German style Marzen as opposed to an American one). Aroma is light caramel malts. Taste is much the same. This is an easy downer and could easily be consumed in great quantities. Light hops are there as well, but considering them is almost an after thought. This is a proper session beer. Crisp and refreshing.

Le miel oxydé suinte de partout, ca semble être une concotion trop verte. Finale mouillée, peu de rafinement.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Flavor of sweet caramel malt and crackery malt, similar to the helles but sweeter. The best of the bunch offered at Trapp Family Lodge (out of the helles, baltic porter, and dunkel) but that’s not saying much... 6/4/6/3/13 [3.2/5]

On tap at Granite State on tap. Lightly hazy deep golden color with a minimal head. Earthy bready pilsner with hints of fruit an floral spicy hops. Nice brew that I returned to a couple of times, but to be world glass it needs to clean up some rough edges.

Expected a much darker color, but it pours a straw yellow color with a white head. Aroma of caramel, hops, and toasted malts. Good flavor and well-balanced with caramel and toasted malt as well as a good hop ending. Good beer.

This was poured into a pilsener glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange color with a two finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving messy clingy lacing sticking to the glass. The smell started off with crisp sweet nutty malts leading into a slight sweet biscuity edge. The taste was mainly sweet through the combination of the nutty malts and biscuity aspect and also allowing a slight roastiness coming into balance. There’s a nutty aftertaste and a quick sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation feels right and leads to a nice smoothness about it. Overall, this was a pretty good Vienna Lager that I could have again.
