Bottled, 330ml from York Beer & Wine, York. Dark brown with off white head. Rich and tasty beer, some liquorice, some plum pudding notes with caramel and a slightly spicy background. Full on the palate, some sweetness. Really very good on a cold evening.

330 ml bottle. A dark amber body with a small beige head. Aroma has sweet malt, dry fruit like raisin and prunes. Flavor is sweet malt, molasses, dry fruit and warming alcohol, moderate in bitterness. Fine body with a long and nice aftertaste. A nice sipper.

Bottle via trade. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head and some suspended particals. The nose is light roast, coffee, earth, chocolate, alcohol, raisin and Xmas pudding. The taste is caramel, wood, dark fruit, spice, chocolate, warming alcohol, light bitterness, coffee liqueur and earth, with a dry, light roasty finish. Full body and soft carbonation. Good depth of flavour and well balanced. As usual traquair do not dissapoint.

Minimal tan head over a clear, deep chestnut brown body.
Complex aroma of figs and prunes with some anise.
The flavor is not what I was expecting from the aroma.
Very smooth as well as sweet but not cloying with nutty roast malts balancing and enhancing the malty sweetness.

Sample @ SMÖF 2012. Vintage bottle (not sure which year). Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a small bubbly offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace worth mentioning. Smell is sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, madeira wine, prunes, wood, alcohol, vanilla fudge, leather and raisins in brandy. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, slightly fruity and malty with caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, madeira wine, alcohol, prunes, raisins, leather, dusty soil and wood. Mouthfeel is sound, soft, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, malty, tiny sour and fruity with caramel, toffee, wood, lemon zest, prunes, raisins, leather and alcohol. Good stuff. Nicely oxidized.

Sampled at SMÖF 2012. Pours brown with no real head. Smells sweet nutty malty, abit alcohol. Tastes sweet nutty malt with a similar finish.
