3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kevinator (360) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Not overly impressed. Aroma was strong sweet malts like molasses. Dark color that was murky with a small head. Palate was syrupy by not necessarily pleasant. Sweet flavor, almost like thinned out malt extract. The corriander did not really stand out. Burnt sugar and other spices were present. Complex but not something I will visit again anytime soon.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (7183) - London, ENGLAND - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle at home in London with Lyoli - picked up at Royal Mile Whiskies, London. Pours clear russet with a moderate, frothy off-white head. Good malty nose, some sweet and ripe fruits, a bit of bread, berries. Medium sweet flavor, some semi-dried berries, bready malts, subtle spices. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, plenty more malty sweetness, toasty bread, slight warming alcohol, berries, spruce. Delicious beer, and drinks like a dream for the ABV. This would be a really dangerous sessioner.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 RamyG4 (238) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Bottle. Pours a slightly reddish dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is spice-mostly coriander, maple, caramel, bread, bubblegum. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of spice. Finish is dry. Medium-full body, soft carbonation. Solid and unique.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 rand (1020) - SWITZERLAND - JUN 2, 2013
Bottle 33 cl from Bier-Bienne (CH). Dark brown with purple refections, average cream head. Spiced aromas, malt, leather, choc, hints of old Porto. The taste is soft and unctuous, malted wealth, a little syrupy with caramel-molasses. Spiced with notes of ginger, coriander, orange, choc and dry fruits. A very complex beer which is a discovery with every sip.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Holmen1 (1187) - NORWAY - MAY 31, 2013
Herlig.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sankara (22) - Pisa, ITALY - MAY 18, 2013
-------- Beer really atypical, considered the place where it originated.
Even the aroma is complex and rich, stand caramel, chocolate and spices.
Classical and Celtic is the aspect, with a beautiful brown opaque low foam.
Powerful body, articulated flavors of caramel, chocolate, aromas of toasted hazelnut and perhaps, all still very well balanced.
Final almost sweet and alcoholic, and leaves a great lingering aftertaste.
The malty sweetness and high body represent an anomaly in the varied landscape of the beers of the channel. Anomaly, for my personal taste, it is appreciated.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 OKplus (560) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 14, 2013
A - Pours a dark brown/red body with a quickly fading tan head.
S - Earthy chocolate, dense caramel, brown sugar, toffee flavored cotton candy, sorghum, raisins.
T - Toasted brown sugar, molasses, toffee, caramel, vanilla, hints of chocolate, the coriander adds a good "non sweet" layer that helps with balance. Finishes with a hint of bitterness.
Caramel, toffee and molasses are the stars of the show but don’t wear out their welcome. Everything melds very well. This is what I want out of a Scotch Ale.
