glkaiser (909), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 25, 2008 Dark cherry brown with thin head. Aroma is mostly corriander and fruit. Taste is a wonder of complexity. Corriander, pepper, malty sweetness and toasted malt. Very dry, slightly bitter finish. Love it.
EHopper (129), Minnesota, USA Aug 31, 2008 The experience starts with a light root beer color pour and a wonderful, nostalgic aroma that reminds me of old time spice stick candy and bazooka bubble gum. There is something else even more telling in there that remains just out of my grasp so I must try again. The flavor was surprisingly simple, a malty sweet flavor without any unpleasantness. Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a very good traditional dark ale. Very tasty and tons of great malt flavors.

Great! bp (284), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle (best before 2014): pours a dark reddish-brown with a frothy light tan head, aroma of cherry, caramel and malt, (kind of a Belgian beer aroma), taste is malty, chocolate, a bit of the alcohol and spices, leaves a bit of a watery feel in the back of the throat.
