COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The famous Bear Gates guarding the approach to Traquair House, near Pebbles, have been closed since 1745 - when the last person to pass through them was Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Now, 250 years later, the ancient Traquair Brew House celebrates the Jacobite cause by producing this potent spiced ale to a traditional fine recipe. Sip slowly and remember the old toast to the "King O'er the Water."

En super skotsk ale, der har en vidunderlig humle- og maltkarakter. Kan varmt anbefales.

Awesome brew.Pours a dark, opaque murky brown with a thin beige head, creamy and lignering. A nice aroma of toffee, molasses and cocoa with a heavy oak and barrel emphasis. Nicely done brew with mild bitterness, nice rich and complex malts and a sultry oak aged presence.

Nutty and caramel aroma, very sweet, a bit too sweet for my taste. Decent taste, fine brew. Just a bit too mundane on the palate for my liking.

Surley sweet. Very complex, a lot of flavour. Strawberry, molasses, vanilla, plump. A very special beer, with watery texiture, good drinkability and a lot of flavours at the end

Pours a deep brown with not much head. Aroma is fruity and laden with summer berries. Taste is quite spicy, mince pie, raisins and some heat.

Tried both this beer and the Oak Aged version side by side. Both dark and malty sweet and thick. Oaked has more carbonation and less sweetness. Hard to nail the coriander. Raisin and toffee and rhubarb. Like them both but the Oak is was the favorite of the 4 of us tasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Favourite Beers Cheltenham. Deep cola colour with a thin tan head. The aroma is a touch like cola with fruit, the taste is very strong caramel.
