Dark brown and not fizzy, tastes mostly like coffee. There is an underlying richness to it, it’s velvety somewhat. It was fairly good but I was disappointed. Very high price.

Jul 21, 2008 (SCOTLAND) Pours a nice dark brown color with a sm white head. The aroma is of coco beans, dark fruit, and molasses. The taste is very malty with some vanilla, and licorice notes !!! You don’t taste the 8% in this brew which is very nice. So i must say this one was a total suprise for me, Do yourself a favor a get some. :)

Jul 18, 2008 Dark brown, Flat, malty, caramel, chocolate, little dark fruits, nutty, and spice. It kind of reminds me of flat cola. Must be a off bottle. Still not bad.

Aroma: Dark fruit and malt. Some alcohol.
Taste: Malt and spices/herbs. Nice, strong aftertaste

Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raisin, dark fruits, brown sugar, very sweet. Flavor strongly of brown sugar, raisins. Thick mouthfeel. This beer is sweet but not oppressing, reminds me of a calmer/more complex/less intense DFH Raison D’extra. Quite good.

Jul 17, 2008 Bottle, best before June 2014. Aroma of earthy, dark fruits, the darkest of the dark, rich, sweet malt, richest of the rich. Flavor brings no surprises, continues its quest of decadence. Somehow manages to avoid becoming overly sweet, but it’s hanging right on the edge the whole time. A sipper, and a good one.
