thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 31, 2004 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small head of finely sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles. The body was uncarbonated transparent and yellow in color. The aroma contained notes of malt and was slightly off. The mouth feel was tingly and smooth with a mellowing finish. The flavor was a simple malt hop one. hotstuff (3038), Indiana, USA Sep 3, 2004 Draft at Traverse Brewing. Small white head and fine-large sized bubbles. Transparent, uncarbonated and a pale yellow hue. Malty and hoppy aroma. Malty flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied APA with fair lacing Sledge Jr (2713), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Nov 26, 2006 In the bottle at the Max & Joe’s Tavern Michigan Beer tasting (11/21/6). Bright golden yellow in color. Vaporous white head. Ketone diacetyl aroma. Tart sour flavor. This beer is a drain pour. Gone bad. Yuk. Pailhead (2314), Allen Park, Michigan, USA May 22, 2005 Bottle: Lightly sweet and lightly hopped aroma. Pours a very light transparent pale yellow with a white head. I’ve seen lighter so I’ll give it a 2. Very light sweetness up front with a watery hop finish. Very Pilsner-like, which is not good when your attempting to make an APA. Not sour, which seems to be a bonus when trying something from this brewery. That alone makes this the best offering from the brewery at the World Beer Expo. Silphium (2008), Lansing, Michigan, USA Mar 24, 2004 Good to know this is "carefully" brewed. Pours a slightly cloudy gold color with a minimal off-white head. Earthy, biscuity aroma. Flavor was indeed pleasant to start, with good interplay between earthy hops, floral characteristics, a touch of light fruit, and biscuit. However, I now feel the acidic burn in the back of my throat that others mention here- indeed a post-puking sensation. What the hell? I wonder if this brewer's other beers are "carefully" brewed.
