jspruit (87), Dublin, Ireland Apr 14, 2007 Got this in a package from USA, so it may have experienced some shipping issues along the way. Decent smell with a dark pour and a 1/2" head that disappeared quickly. The taste was a bit sour and not too full, but maybe that is because it seemed a bit flat. Not alot of fullness to the taste, but I liked it more than others seemed to like it. I would give it another try if another bottle made it my way. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 14, 2006 A pitch black beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is slightly acidic with notes of prunes and wood. The flavor is sweet with a strong dry roasted malt note. I find a big difference from aroma to flavor, the aroma reminds me most of a Mild, while the flavor is like a stout. jaypoe (1), Iowa, USA does not count Dec 9, 2005 I bought a 6-pack of this stout at a liquor store in St. Josephs, MI. It tasted spoiled, very sour. It was probably mishandled or just old. I’m sure it’s a good brew, and I would like to try a fresh batch. The problem is, I live in Iowa, and seldom get to Michigan, so I’m probably out 10 bucks. Dough77 (720), Aurora, Illinois, USA Nov 2, 2005 Updated: Oct 16, 2007Very interesting brew. Pour is watered down dark brown. Aroma is wonderful I must say, big barley, malts, chocolate, some dark fruits, maybe cherry, toasted wood. Flavor too is tremednous, does have a slight acidic note, but besides that there is something to really enjoy in this beer. SuIIy (1107), W Newton, Massachusetts, USA Jul 28, 2005 Bottle. Pours an oily black color with a caramel colored head. leaves slightly good lacing. Nose is chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is bitter and harsh up front, with some nour notes. The finish is slightly better with some chocolate and roasty flavors, slight coffee but leaves the mouth aching and dry, with a bad film coating.
