3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice sweet malty aroma and pours a rich hazy reddish brown.
Large head that dissipates fairly quickly. Some sweetness, but the overall impression is of malt with some hoppiness. Sweetness lingers, but not long enough to be cloying. A very, very nice brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: clear amber, short light tan head diminishing rapidly to a thin cap, no lacing. (3/5) Aroma: molasses, dark fruit, caramel/toffee, mild nutty, light chocolate. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, mild bitter, mild tart. (7/10) Medium body, lively to moderate carbonation, drying lightly astringent warming finish. (3/5)
A cool enough October day to justify something a little darker - there was, after all, frost on the windshield for hockey practice at six this morning! Not a bad version of the style, although both the head and the body are somewhat less than indicated in the guidelines. Pretty similar to Celebrator, actually, if slightly lighter - so I’m guessing the name similarity isn’t accidental... However, it manages to pull off a higher ABV despite the lighter flavour, so kudos for that. It doesn’t really improve by warming, though, so unless warm watery molasses is your thing, don’t take too much time with this one. (13/20)

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours and looks like A&W Root Beer. Short lived cream coloured head. Major notes of hay on the nose. Medium to light mouth feel with low effervescence. More bitter than sweet.
It leaves a slightly bitter Sarsaparilla after taste. Also seems to cause a bit more gas like one of those ’light’ beers. A definite pass next time.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wow, poured a heavily carbonated foamy brownish head. A nice dark brown appearance. Aromas of strong roasted malts and caramel. Flavour is also of roasted malts, but with a touch of coffee and bitter sweetness, spices. Also a bit of dry fruits (plums, raisins). Alcohol is also noticeable in the aroma. Aftertaste is a bit bitter. Not bad.
