Plenty of chocolate, orange-citrus, biscuit and roast character in the sweet nose. Opaque black body is topped by a decent and lasting, fine-bubbled, tan-brown head that sticks to the sides of the glass and laces well. Flavour has interesting elements of a strong and hoppy stout without the sweetness of an Imperial Stout - lots of roasted malt character, strong bitterness, plenty of chocolate and citrus flavour. Bitterness and dark chocolate linger in the aftertatse. Medium body has strong effervescence that really lightens the mouthfeel. Dangerously drinkable as the alcohol is never apparent. Really well done. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in February 2012.

It pours opaque dark brown with amber highlights; the head was mocha and foamy. The aroma has notes of: crackers, chocolate, and toast. The taste is lightly sweet and finishes dry and lightly bitter; the aforementioned aroma notes comes through in the taste. The palate is medium bodied, with medium carbonation, with a slick bitter long finish. Overall, it’s really quite tasty.

Bottle shared at Kenny’s 20K tasting - London. Pours brown with a tan cream head. Moderately sweet, with notes of toasted bread, bitter pine, crunchy grains, a little toffee, faint citrus fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Further toasty malts in the finish, light roast, earth. Pretty OK overall.

650ml  bottle poured into a shaker glass. Pours black with a beige frothy head.  Has an aroma of berries and dark chocolate.   Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee with fruity notes.  Medium creamy body, with a mild bitterness.  It’s a great IPA-stout mash up.

A beautiful pour, black, but with deep brown hi-lights in the light. Off-white head. On the nose there is roasty malts, grassy hops, and dark chocolate. Tastes are a surprising amount of dark chocolate, over some nice slightly bitter hops. Slightly resiny. This is like a stout and an IPA had a beautiful baby. Love it.

Bottle at MadMitch76 20K tasting, thanks to Fiona. It pours darkest brown with a thick beige head. The nose is toast, earth, chocolate, treacle, fruit cake and spicy ginger. The taste is bitter, toasted malt, earth, charred wood, earth, cocoa, treacle, Eccles cake, orange peel and Negroni bitterness towards the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Has an interesting Negroni bitter orange character. Overall not bad.
