Great combination of the citrus and pine with the strong caramel malt make this an excellent example of a NW DIPA. I often find the style too strong for me, just like the spiciest of chili sauces, so it was nice that this didn’t go too far. Extreme flavour here.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness, pine and light grapefruit with a crisp dry bitter lingering earthy finish.

650 mL bottle. Pours a deep amber with a thick off white head, lots of lacing here. Pine, honey, lavender, citrus and soap on the nose. Big and sweet followed by a bracing quantity of hops, big bitter finish. Waxy on the palate, lots of carbonation. Enjoyable on its own, probably better with some spicy south east asian food.

Grassy, bread aroma with a hint of citrus. Hazy, amber colour with minimal head. Light sweet taste that is quickly overpowered by heavy bitter hops. Slick texture with a long bitter finish.

Bottle. Solid grassy/deciduous tree hop aroma. Heavy hop taste that covers the extra alcohol surprisingly well. Love the hop hit on this one.

Amber in color, a bit on the dark side for how I prefer my IPAs (or double IPAs). The aroma opens with nice pine hop notes and a mild citrus character. The sweet malt comes through quite a bit. Maybe a touch of herbal hops on the back end. The flavor is just okay. Moderate sweetness with some pine and citrus peel notes providing the bulk of the hop flavor.

Hazy orange on the pour. Sweet and hoppy on the nose. Bitter resin and pine in the taste. Some caramel sweetness from the malt is present, but the hops heavily over power it. Slick across the palate and a lasting bitter finish.

Light and fresh aroma. Tangerine colour with a thick white foamy head. Tastes like summertime. I guess I’m learning to appreciate these bitter IPAs; I may have to go back and rerate some of them.

Pours cloudy orange typical of a real IPA. medium white head which mostly diminished. Inviting aromas of hops, malt, bitterness, citrus, and some grain like hay smells. Medium body with a nice bold taste. Long aftertaste with a floral, hops, bitter, acidic, taste with a complex, rich well balanced quality. Not very well versed with double IPA’s, but I really appreciated this beer.

650ml bottle from the lcbo. Quite dark amber pour, light citrucy hops, and quite a malt backbone. Cereals, and grains with a hop kick at the end. I think this might have sat in the lcbo warehouse too long before hitting the shelves. Quite good but not as hoppy as i expected.
