3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled sample. Orange in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of ruby red grapefruit, pale and caramel malts, and fresh cut pine. White grapefruit and caramel upfront in the mouth, with a bit of black pepper, herbs, and wood on the back end. Medium to heavy bodied, and fairly smooth on the palate (especially for a double IPA). There’s only a touch of chalky bitterness on the finish. There’s enough citrus to keep it interesting, but it;s lacking some hoppy-bitter punch.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells floral, hoppy. Heavy alcohol almost makes it taste Belgian. High hoppy aftertaste smoothed out by the high alcohol. Malts come off a little sweet, but not too much. Heavy body, tasty beer. Big bottle.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Floral, gazonné avec une touche d’agrumes. L’amertume est une tête en avant des malts qui peinent à l’appuyer. Le corps est actif, très effervescent. Rien de mémorable, rien de repoussant.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a bomber from the LCBO, pours a lovely copper to light brown with a soft little creamy head. Aroma carries some fresh tropical fruit scents like peach and mango, with a bit of floral hop. Resin and chewiness on the palate, with a bitter finish, but not over powering. A wonderful beer.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 Bomber from LCBO. Hazy orange. Sweet fruit punch aroma. Balanced flavor, with a bitter vegetable finish. Pretty good 2xIPA. Edit: enjoyed my second bottle more than the first. Nice cherry flavours, balanced out by all the hops.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Orange amber pour with a frothy tan head, sticky lacing. Caramel, bready and cheese. Lots of citrus, pine and floral hops. Some alcohol on the nose. Medium body and sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Finish is long and bitter. Overall a very nice chewy 2X IPA with plenty of hop character and a nice caramel backbone. Not super smooth balance however, and be prepared for the booze on the finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In a 650ml bottle from the LCBO. Smell is quite excellent, a good amount of pine, and some hints of pineapple and citrus. Pours a golden red with a thick head that dissipates very quickly leaving a good amount of lacing. Taste is pretty good, a bit of sweetness at first quickly making way for massive hoppiness. Definitely more pine than anything. Aftertaste is quite bitter, and totally masks the surprisingly high alcohol content. Palate is kind of boring and not very active, could use more carbonation. Quite drinkable, dangerously so.
