3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Orange amber pour with a frothy tan head, sticky lacing. Caramel, bready and cheese. Lots of citrus, pine and floral hops. Some alcohol on the nose. Medium body and sticky texture. Soft carbonation. Finish is long and bitter. Overall a very nice chewy 2X IPA with plenty of hop character and a nice caramel backbone. Not super smooth balance however, and be prepared for the booze on the finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In a 650ml bottle from the LCBO. Smell is quite excellent, a good amount of pine, and some hints of pineapple and citrus. Pours a golden red with a thick head that dissipates very quickly leaving a good amount of lacing. Taste is pretty good, a bit of sweetness at first quickly making way for massive hoppiness. Definitely more pine than anything. Aftertaste is quite bitter, and totally masks the surprisingly high alcohol content. Palate is kind of boring and not very active, could use more carbonation. Quite drinkable, dangerously so.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8.4% ABV (as written on bottle)
I tried this beer on March 1, 2012 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario. The beer poured a slightly hazed golden red with a generous long lasting tan head. The aroma was hop heavy with a lot of citrus and grapefruit notes and some caramel and bread. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is primarily grapefruit with some piney. Very good, but not the best DIPA I’ve ever had.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Canada: Pours a bronze color with a whitish head. Aroma is sugar and citrus hops. Beer is quite hoppy and bitter towards the back, but the aftertaste is actually rather mellow. Plenty of sugar is to be had. There is definitely a bit of booze to be tasted here. A generic dIPA.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
It pours a hazy auburn with golden-orange highlights; the head is a fluffy off-cream colour. The aroma has notes of: pineapple, grapefruit, and treacle. The taste is a medium bitterness that finishes with a long bitter note; it has notes of: grapefruit, toffee, and bread. The palate is medium-full bodied, slightly oily, with lively carbonation that fills your mouth *wink*. Overall, it’s an Imperial Pale Ale… generic at best; boring.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is pine, weed, citrus, and caramel. Full-bodied, silky mouth feel with big hop flavour. Finish is beautifully bitter with a slight alcohol presence and a touch of orange peel. The hops aren’t too overwhelming - some of the American style DIPAs I’ve had are too much and hard to finish, but that definitely wasn’t the case with this one. It still has big hop presence, but was balanced enough to make it extremely enjoyable. Wonderful!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is one of my all time favourites. Strong and skunky on the nose. I just opened one I had been saving since around May 2011... it had developed sediment, but was still as good as the first few bottles I had last year.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was poured from a 22oz bomber, it pours a hazy amber color with a 1 finger white head that vanishes to a cap., it also has some small amounts of lacing.
The aroma gives off some light malt notes and some light citrus. It is somewhat boring for an IPA.
I pick up some good warmth from the alcohol, it has light carmel and big amounts of grapefruit. It is mostly dominated by the back end with a big multi hop presence. It should have more malt tossed into the mix to stand up to the bitterness.
It finishes with a burning sensation and you guessed it a lingering bitterness. When you consider everything though, I think this beer could still stand with the best of them

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
650mL bottle pours a cloudy amber color with massive head that settles to a nice lacing. Predominantly hops on the nose. Taste is malty sweetness balanced with a big hoppy bitterness which is very pleasant on the palate. This Imperial IPA rivals some of the bold American versions of this style. Very nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a fabulous IPA. The flavour and aroma are both dominated by a multidimensional hop character with prominent pine and citrus notes. This is balanced with a surprisingly full body and great, pronounced caramel malt profile.
