Amber with orange tinges. Aromas of pine, hops, some fruit. Bitter, but well balanced. I liked the full body and lingering finish. Great beer.

650 ml bottle. Pours a veiled pale amber with a thin, resilient white head. Aroma is toffee, orange, grapefruit and lime. Flavor is earth, toffee, caramel, brown sugar and fruit. Finish is grapefruit, very hoppy and bitter, orange, lime, grapefruit. Long lingering bitterness. Full body, average carbonation. Solid.

My Bottom Line:
Soft but heavy caramel pours onto fruity hop resins in this warming Double IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A gorgeous cloud of foam sits atop the cloudy amber.
-There is a date printed on the neck of the bottle, but it is very blurry. And black on dark brown... not very useful. In any case, this was clearly not the freshest bottle, but it was still on a store shelf...
-Bitterness is peppery and resinous. Intense but necessary to balance out the heavy sugars.
-This is undoubtedly a flavorful brew. But it’s lack of freshness makes it appear unrefined. No idea if it is as rough when fresh.
-Alcohol is prominent in the finish.

Bottle.

Pours a murky orangey brown, Thick white head, leaving nice lacing behind. Nose is a nice blend of malts and hops, coming in the form of caramel and grapefruit. Medium palate. Taste are reflective of the aromas, with some light sweet caramel up front, and a bitter citrus rind finish. Overall, I would have liked a bit more of a hop bomb given the name, but it’s hard to argue with the balance this beer possesses.

Poured from the tap. Orangey brown with beige head. Nutty malt with light hop aroma and a little caramel. Flavour same, hopping is a bit light on the taste and tastes slightly watered down.

20114/07/10 - Pours a hazy, dark, burnt orange colour with a thick, fluffy, off white head that lingers and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, pine and caramel. Taste is pine, citrus, caramel and spicy hops with a puckering, grapefruit rind finish. Body is full and oily with average, slightly sharp carbonation and a drying, mildly warming finish. Very drying, but rather enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

dark amber pour, with a faint head, albeit a lasting lace. Piney citrus hop nose. Nice heavy hops on the tbuds. Carmel sweet with a strong bittter finish. Heavy, thick creamy palate. Feels like a double to me. I still can enjoy the hop blast, even with the alc maxed out. Well done by Tree.

Citrus, caramel, and some fruit and spice on the tongue. Nice white head and amber colour in the glass. Pine on the nose with green grass. A nice hop finish but not a double IPA by British Columbia standards.

bottle. Poured hazy caramel-amber with a thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is fresh with spicy hop. Full mouthfeel, dry with an alcohol note. Roasted malt flavour with caramel and piney hop notes. Finishes with a sticky bitter grapefruit dryness.

Big head, nice lacing. Not ridiculous hoppy, but enough. Amazing balance with the caramel notes. I would rather have my DIPAs blow my doors off with hops, but this is decent enough.
