COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The HopHead is an extremely hoppy and flavourful beer, reminiscent of many American IPAs. The HopHead has a nice full body and mouthfeel, without the hoppiness being too overpowering. A fine ale all around.

Beer pours clear golden color with a retained off white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and pine. Flavor is bitter, but less so than the Phillips IPA I had yesterday. Good not great IPA, IMO.

Picked-up a 6-pack of this one at the LCBO. Pours a clean amber colour with big frothy off-white head that has good retention and great lacing. Aromas of burnt toffee and grapefruits. Kind of on the light side of things for the palate. Not as bitter from the glass, than the bottle. Caramel malts with the hop showing in the finish with a medium dry bitterness. A good IPA that has balls, but does not overpower and is still easy to drink a few.

Draft - Sweet hoppy aroma, clear orange with a medium persistent head. Grapefruit and malt with just enough bitterness. A bit of an alcohol yeasty finish but in all a well balanced session beer. A great value IPA from Canada.

330 mL bottle. Pours a light amber with a thin white head. Dissipates with nice lacing. Fairly simple nose, pine, wax, lanolin and citrus. Sweet caramelized malts followed up by a big punch of hops. Bitter and dry on the finish. Nice roasted flavors on the start, then the hops kick in and bring on the grapefruit. Medium to full bodied with moderate to strong carbonation. Long creamy finish. Seem to remember their Double IPA being better, but never rated it. Tasty none the less.

Bottle - 330ml. Light amber body with a decent white frothy head. Average malty/hoppy aroma with bready and nutty hints. Its fresh, sharp hoppy taste carries herbal and piney notes. Ends with a good bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Simply a very well made IPA. Lots of hop character, but not harsh, so it works as a casual beer. The kind of beer you want to come home from work to.

clear amber with a bone color head keeping a good retention. Aroma is full of citrusy, pine hops with hints of grapefruit, lemon and lime. Beer has a medium bodied palate with some smoothiness uncommon for IPA’s . It is rich in hops showing its citrus character of grapefruit,lemon-lime with a hint of bark pineyness! Finishes with a moderate bitterness of citrus hops and leaf and pine flavored undertones. A beer which I would recommend to newcomers for the IPA style beers!

Very nice aroma, lots of hop herb and citrus smells. Lots of rich hop flavour and a moderate body. Finish is a little shorter than I’d like. Quite a nice easy drinking IPA!

Feb 27, 2012; 5.6% abv,330 mL bottle, BBD: 03/07/12; outdoor chill, lager glass Nice floral hop aromas with heavy citrus, apricot and pine. Pours a clear copper with active carbonation. Nice white frothy head which retains well and leaves a good lace. First notes are caramel malt which are quickly subdued by the hops. Pine and grapefruit are most evident, with some herbal bitterness. Resin comes through in the finish, overpowering. The malt at the start was nice. Bitter resin sort of cloys the tongue. Nice medium body with a refreshing carbonation. Resin bitterness is a bit too strong for my liking in the finish. Good flavor.

Aroma is piney hops, citrus, hint of caramel. There’s an initial hit of bitterness with flavours reminiscent of the nose. Finish is grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple. Great all around IPA, very enjoyable and easy to drink.
