4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2015 The originator not the imitator. This first version of Eureka features Nelson Sauvin hops and has a very unique cool, earthy, white wine fruitiness thatís difficult to describe but a joy to sniff and taste. The aroma also presents honeydew and apricot. The flavor is bigger and adds notes of cracked pepper. Second best of the five? versions to date, Galaxy being my favorite.

Bottle shared by Sam. Pours cloudy blonde with a thick white head and a floral aroma. There is a smooth pale malt flavor with a moderately bitter lemony Nelson finish. Very easy to drink with lots of flavor.

Taste from a 16oz can at an Athens OH bottle/can share. This is labeled as Nelson. Hazy pale golden orange color. Thin off-white head, leaving an awesome spread of lace. Fantastic white grape, mild peppery big hop aroma. This has to be one of the better nelson hop features I have tasted, white grape character comes through awesomely here. Medium - plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mild dry finish. Very mild bready malt character, a bit yeasty, but mostly just nice white grape nelson sauv here. Touch of orange citrus. Light to moderate sweet taste, moderate to bigger bitter, mild zest. Solid, tasty Nelson Sauv DIPA. Def. worth it.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Flip top growler split with GT2. Pours a beautiful glowing gold with large foam. Gorgeous beer. Aroma of pineapple, ginger, fresh dough, bright yellow fruit. Taste is super doughy, medium bodied, mild fruit juice, white grape, pineapple, mango. Low bitterness in finish. I usually hate Nelson hops, smell and taste like Vasoline, but somehow Tree House has worked their magic.

> World class Session IPA

>> Pours glowing straw, full haze like all of their beers, thick white foam, delicate and encompassing lacing. Nose isnít really what Iím used to in Nelson- instead it is much softer with juicy gooseberry, candied pineapple, pineapple gummy bears, lychee jelly, vanilla cake. Taste is pineapple smoothie, pineapple cake batter, fresh biscuit, loads of white dough. Ultra soft palate, super quenching. Delicious. Extremely low bitterness on this one really makes me lean towards hoppy blonde than Session IPA, but the line is thin and gray. Both styles are amazing when someone knows what they are doing. Tree House is no solidified itself in my mind as being at the highest level in beer today.

Poured from growler into a tulip: Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma is melon, citrus fruits, and bread. Taste is very citrus hop forward, but not at all bitter. Incredibly drinkable session with a lot of flavor. Light body, a little thin, but itís a great beer.
