Though originally brewed as a "Christmas" beer, this piney IPA, brewed almost exclusively Chinook hops, was so enjoyable we decided to put it into the ’year round’ rotation. With it’s golden yellow color, rich aroma, and drying body, it’s hard to stop drinking this one.

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Thanks to Leighton for this evenings New England haul. Lightly hazy gold beer, little white head. Palate is soft and dry. Resinous hops, skunky and piney as well. A bare whisper of citrus. Finishes dry with hop spice dominant. Found this a little astringent to be great but still a good beer.

Growler shared in London - picked up at the brewery five days prior. Pours clear gold with a white cream topping. The nose is all pine and well-ripened citrus fruits. Medium sweet flavor with ripe, sticky orange, light tangerine. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Good and resinous on the finish with further pine and orange, moderate bready malts. Very tasty. A bit punchy and sticky but it does achieve some nice balance.

[ Growler ][ 750mL ][ Tree House ][ $8 fill + $5 glass ][ Globe ][ 6.1.14 ]
>> Growler filled 5.29.14 and opened 6.1.14, shared with DTF on a rooftop party. Pours Tree House’s typical murky glowing peach and mango juice color, extremely unfiltered but no chunkies. White foam is healthy and sticks around. Nose is subtle and requires coaxing, but out comes this ridiculously fresh and soft tangerine and freshly made tropical fruit smoothie with banana, mango, papaya. Perfect prickly carbonation in mouthfeel gives this a flavor of something like a pineapple smoothie blended with orangina. One of the most fruity and juicy beers I’ve ever had. Could be blonde ale, APA, IPA, Saison- whatever. This one has the low bitterness, high hop forward fruit juice character, and a palate to put everyone but maybe a handful of brewers to shame. Absolutely mind blowing.

750 ml bottle to snifter (shared with jmborggren and the Mrs.). Looks good; a transparent golden orange with foamy eggshell head. Smells good too; piney hops with a mildly sweet pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with loads of juicy hops. Pleasant on the palate. A great IPA!

Growler courtesy of Brian, shared with Max and Brian. Pours a bright, murky orange amber body with nice white lacing. Aroma is big citrusy nose, sweet sugar, resin and pine. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of citrus fruits, citric hop, pine, resin and lots of sweetness. Another solid offering by an up-and-coming brewery.

Growler thanks to Leighton! The pour’s deep orange amber with a creamy off-white head. Slightly cloudy. The nose is a big old melon bomb. Loads of melon, cantaloupe. Moderate citrus. Pine. The taste is similar. Melon and bright citrus. Bitter pine needle. Clean finish. Slightly sweet and syrupy on the palate. Soft carbonation. Quite good, if a touch sticky.
