3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild floral honey aroma with some light herbal hop character and lightly grainy malts apparent. Brilliantly clear golden blonde body is topped by a low, fine bubbled white head that lasts well. Toasty, biscuity malts are joined by a pleasant honey sweetness and mild citrus hop character leading through to a crisp finishing bitterness. Medium light body with moderate carbonation that is lightly effervescent, engaging the tongue. Tumbler. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (BCLS Kingsgate, Sep-06).

341ml brown bottle. Gold pour, compact creamy white head. Honey in the nose, slightly grassy. Some malt, corn, some honey sweetness, very faint finishing hops. Body was pretty thin.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. Poured a clear, bright lighter golden with a short-lived cap of white head. Nose was of honey, corn syrup, and veggie compost... not at all appetizing. Flavor found the veggies at the forefront... followed by the corn syrup, a hint of honey, and a mild herbal bitterness... just a little better than the nose, but still not good. Light-bodied and spritzy with high carbonation. No good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden yellow, moderate head. Aromas of pale malt and soft honey. More true malt flavour than macro pale lagers, a little sweet with some gentle hop character. Nice for a pale lager.

2.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma of honey and blossoms. Gold with good fluffy head and abundant lace. Some light malt and honey in the mouth, quite sweet in fact, but the best part of this one was the aroma.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2005 From the bottle: Pours a medium gold with a large foamy head.
Biscuit aroma, yeasty. Didn’t really get much honey.
Musty earthy flavour with the honey flavor pretty low and not very sweet. Didn’t particularly enjoy it. Not what I expected from a honey pilsner.

Maybe I was just so dissapointed in this beer I was a bit harsh. Flavour is a bit less offensive but it’s still my least fav. Fireweed so far. amended from 1.8 to a 2.0

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2005 While this beer had a nice head, clean aroma, light color and delicate taste...it simply was not what I would call a Pilsner. Filing this beer as a Pale Lager definitely suits the beer...and I think the upcoming name change should reflect the nature of this beer!

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Quickly dissipating head. Dark yellow. Faint clover honey aroma. Fair amount of metallic bitterness and light sweetness. Overall more like a macro-clone than micro-stretch.
