tiggmtl (4513) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2006
Mild floral honey aroma with some light herbal hop character and lightly grainy malts apparent. Brilliantly clear golden blonde body is topped by a low, fine bubbled white head that lasts well. Toasty, biscuity malts are joined by a pleasant honey sweetness and mild citrus hop character leading through to a crisp finishing bitterness. Medium light body with moderate carbonation that is lightly effervescent, engaging the tongue. Tumbler. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (BCLS Kingsgate, Sep-06).

Quickly dissipating head. Dark yellow. Faint clover honey aroma. Fair amount of metallic bitterness and light sweetness. Overall more like a macro-clone than micro-stretch.

500mL can, pours a pale golden. Crisp aroma of hops and corn. Standard crisp flavour of corn and grain. Drinkable, but forgettable.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2006 (Bottle) Amber body with a medium, frothy white head. Slightly sweetened nose - likely the honey. Nothing special - an overly sweetened lager? Below average.

Can: Poured a bright yellow color pils with a medium size foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet malt notes with a dry finish. Taste is quite refreshing with nice notes of lightly sweet malt and dry finish with light crisp notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well done though more Noble hops would have improve the recipee.

Light yellow color. Smells like a standard pilsner. Decent taste. Fairly smooth taste and finish. Nice.

341mL bottle poured a pale golden color with a modest head that settled to almost no lacing. Aromas of grain and some hops. Taste is mostly hoppy bitterness with a hint of malt sweetness from the grain. Just another average pale ale.

Kind of reminds me of hemp beer. Must be the use of 'weed' in the name that's throwing me off, eh? As an aside, people in Vancouver really do say "eh", but they do not call each other "hosers" as the film "Strange Brew" would lead you to believe. But back to the beer - possesses a sweet smell and a tad more flavor than an ordinary lager. In a 10-lager tasteoff, I'd say this came in above average.

Bottle. Light golden with a small white head. Aroma of honeyish malt and floral & grassy hops with a slight buttery edge. Medium bodied. Flavours follow on the aroma quite closely - sweet malt with honey notes to start, mild buttery middle, lightly hopped finish with a pleasant herbal character. A bit too subtle, but not bad.
