“Mellow Moon is the perfect complement to this great weather,” says Tod Melnyk, President, Tree Brewing. “The first taste of pineapple each summer is a memorable experience, and now we’ve bottled that so our consumers can enjoy on any occasion.” Unfiltered to create a naturally cloudy brew, Mellow Moon Pineappe Hefeweizen also has flavours of citrus and clove that lead to a pleasant, dry mild hop finish. It pairs well with crowd favourites such as ham and pineapple pizza, spicy Indian cuisine and lemon meringue pie. On tap @ Tap & Barrel - Coal Harbour. Hazed golden pour with a white head. The aroma is certainly tropical and fruity. A bunch of dried, sweetened pineapple on the nose. Bread, a touch of banana, and some very faint citrus. Flavor is quite juicy, actually. Tastes a bit like dried pineapple and pineapple Lifesaver candies. Decent banana and bread. Mild citrus and a hint of bitterness. Not bad.

Nice summer beer. Pours light orange with no head or lacing. Nose is fruity with some dough. Flavours of pineapple, dough, some apple. Taste is medium/light sweet. Lightish body with medium carbonation.

Bottle...pours a clouded bright yellow with a moderate cap - aroma is sweet with light fruits ...light , spritzy...flavor is biscuit with light pineapple mixing with the hefe fruity esters, dry, fruity, refreshing, tart and hoppy with a judicious use of pineapple - pretty decent summer beer

650ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body, medium white head, poor retention, no lacing. Aroma of pineapple, wheat, lemons, stum, coriander, bananas. Taste of pineapple juice, lemons, green grapes, wheat, coriander, herbs. Completely unexpected and lovely.

Bomber from LCBO served cold in a tulip glass. Very cloudy golden with a full off-white head. Pineapple, banana esters and clove spiciness, wheat, bread dough and other tropical fruits. Medium body and fairly full carbonation. Lots of pineapple, banana, a touch of yeast, apple juice, nondescript tropical fruits; dry with minimal bitterness and a pineapple and vaguely tropical fruit finish. A bit different and quite friendly.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2014 Pours a darker than pineapple. Has a micro-head and very little lacing. Smells of grain, pineapple, citrus and cloves. Taste is same as nose but more tart and citrus. The bubbles give it a nice pep.

650 mL bottle. If you love pineapple, this one’s for you. I don’t love pineapple. Too much pineapple! It overwhelms everything else from start to finish. You can tell that the base beer is a wheat beer, but that’s about it. If this had been done with more subtlety, perhaps I would have liked this one better.

Limited Edition bomber at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy golden-orange colour with a big off-white head that stays a long time and leaves great thick-creamy lacing. Mild sweet aromas of pineapples cover up the hefe banana wheat notes with some decent yeast as the backbone. The taste is milder with not as much sweetness as expected from the nose. Hints of wheat and yeast again. Quite a interesting combo of the pineapples and the hefeweizen. Not too worry, not too sweet, so good for summer.

This beer has strong aroma of pineapple and undertones of banana. It has the pale golden color of a standard Hefeweizen. Was pretty clear when poured. There was a thin head of foam at the top. This beer had about medium sweetness. The body of the beer was light with a thin texture. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by this, a great summer beer.
