COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Serendipity is our whiskey barrel aged beer, aged in our cellar for over 100 days in whiskey and port barrels. Each brew number discovers new tasting profiles that is reflective of the style of beer used and blending done to each batch of beer. We hope you enjoy our Serendipity series as much as we have enjoyed exploring and pushing the boundaries of beer.

Gerbeer (1780) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2013
650 ml bottle. Pours a deep copper color with medium head that settles quickly. Aromas of lavender, old leather, and malts. Flavors are similar with a thin whiskey flavor and buttery oaked notes. Quite flat.

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 3/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 8/20
manuchampions (1237) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 4, 2013
Pours a clear copper with a thin cap of tan head. Aroma is woody, slightly buttery (uh-oh)with some caramel. Taste is watery, cola like with an unpleasant off flavour in there, some burnt malt notes along with a woodiness from the barrel. The finish is harsh with some alcohol and adjunct notes. Generally a thin, off putting mess that got stuck in a barrel.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 10/20
RumRunner101 (770) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 25, 2012
Pours a cherry brown with limited white head. Aroma is sweet with light bourbon smoke, cherries, caramel. Medium bodied. Some sweetness in the body with light fruit and charred malt flavours. The barrel ageing adds a little bit of complexity, but I find this beer more confusing than anything. Where was this supposed to go?

1.3
   AROMA 3/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 2/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 3/20
mcberko (6438) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 25, 2012
650mL bottle, pours a clear orange amber with a small white head. Aroma of light whiskey barrels, dry caramel and corn – smells like a highly adjuncted lager. Flavour is very bland, with no hint of the whiskey barrels, corn, and other adjuncts – what the hell is this. This is being sold as some sophisticated barrel aged amber, but tastes more like a pop lager. This is crap.
