Whiskey Barrel Aged Beer - Unpasteurized - No Preservatives
Serendipity is our whiskey barrel aged beer, aged in our cellar for over 100 days in whiskey and port barrels. Each brew number discovers new tasting profiles that is reflective of the style of beer used and blending done to each batch of beer. We hope you enjoy our Serendipity as much as we have enjoyed exploring and pushing the boundaries of beer.

Plenty of raisins, toffee and caramel in the nose along with obvious wood and whiskey character, although truth be told it seems more like sherry than whiskey. Clear, deep brown body is topped by a low but lasting, large bubbled tan-cream head that leaves some spotty lacing. Flavour is initially sweet with plenty of vanilla and woody notes, some nuttiness in the finish and fairly light bitterness. Whiskey flavour is apparent especially in the aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Barrel-aged brown ale? A bit different than the everyday but I kind of wish it had a bit more hop character. Snifter. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in May 2010.
