This dark lager is malty and aromatic, with a hint of chocolate, balancing the delicate floral hoppines. This beer is a favorite among Guinness drinkers because of its rich, mellow flavor and light finish.

341mL bottle poured a dark brown color with some red highlights and an off-white head with little lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is of roasted malty sweetness and some chocolate with a mild hop bitterness in the finish. This is quite a nice beer.

A much-appreciated change of pace from the slew of mediocre anglo-american ales in canada. Good flavour development. Mellower than the best of the style, but still a quality brew.
