2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lagerboy (705) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 19, 2013
Clear dark copper, foamy tan head fades instantly. Mild aroma of chocolate malt and berries. Lightly sweet milk chocolate malts up front, followed by a light tart berry fruitiness, pretty thin. Soft carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Watery towards the finish. Nice enough. Next! LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rejtable (888) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2013
Odd duck for me. Pours black with a foamy head and some lacing. Nose is earthy maybe some roasted hints. Aromas of ight roasted malts, some very faint smoke, some sweet raspberry. Tastes are med-light sweet and very light bitterness. Foamy in the mouth with very aggressive carbonation. Decent enough, but not really a porter for my senses.

650mL bottle bought in Prince George, B.C. Quite heavily carbonated. Raspberry taste is somewhat understated which is fine by me. I’m tasting some sort of smoky flavour as well. Overall it is decent but I won’t be buying it again anytime soon.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 andrewturba (479) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 16, 2012
Pours a clear darker brown with a reddish tinge when held up to the light with a big short lived head and minimal lacing. Aromas are earthly, light tart raspberry, roasted, chocolate, coffee. Flavours are chocolate, tart raspberry, slightly bitter and dry, finish is somewhat uneventful. Interesting beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Reimer96 (619) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 14, 2012
Pours a clear dark red color with a small brown hat. Aroma od tart raspberries, coffee and roast chocolate malts. Tastes like chocolate raspberries with some bitterness from the cocoa flavors. Finishes a bit flat, decent offering though.

650ml bottle. Whoa. Crazy carbonation. Poured gently into a glass, and it’s 80% head. When it settles down you have a huge beige head over a dark chestnut brown beer. The nose has corn based cereal notes, dusty earthy notes, faint cocoa, and a prominent aroma of raspberry juice. The taste is almost identical to the nose, but with the addition of some straw like pilsener notes. Everything that I’m enjoying about the raspberry element of the beer is being diminished by the faint cocoa of the malt. I think bigger chocolate notes would have worked better, and it’s awfully thin bodied with maybe a little too much carbonation. This beer just doesn’t work for me.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rederic (2564) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 13, 2012
650ml bottle, dark brown color, with a thick fluffy tan head, nice chocolatey, raspberry, black coffee, light tart earthy red berry nose, with a roasted, black, chocolate, toasted malt note, and a faint dark bitter chocolate baking bar, sublte mocha accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice chocolatey, raspberry, coffee, mochaish, light black forest cake character, with a mild black. roasted, chocolate, toasted maltiness flavour, with a faint cocoa powder, burnt toast, tart redberry fruity undertone, leading towards a dark bitter chocolate, lingering roasty bitterness finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Viper666 (2763) - Quebec, CANADA - NOV 4, 2012
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 sulawang (418) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 29, 2012
pours almost pitch brown with a small head, foamy CO2. Very malty tart raspberries on the nose. Drinks very creamy up front, and then the subdued tartness kicks in, tastes of medium malts, light coffee, faint raspberry aroma, 5/10-level sour backdrop and finishes partially watery, soft bitter, and without carry. Medium complexity, medium depth, okay transitions, below-average carry, decent drinkability. An okay experimental beer, but not really worth the time and calories.
2nd Tasting: (Oct 29, 2012): Pours with a nice massive creamy foamy head, okay retention. Roasted malts and dark raspberry compote on the nose. Drinks with a nice crispness, round flavour, coffee-ish raspberry. Not a whole lot of depth. Upgrade to C+.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hammy78 (617) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 18, 2012
Bottle given to me by the inlaws, brought straight from the source. Pour is a dark ruby brown, with a white head that has these lines/ clouds of lacing that reminds me of super mario bros. Nose is malty and sweet raspberry. Tastes sweet, malty again and a little bit of syrup. Pretty good but a little bit of synthetic raspberry.
